I had to try this place on my last trip (mid-May) due to the amazing reports on this site. My phone/map ran out of battery so I had to use my natural compass, got a tad lost (it wouldn't be Amsterdam if i didn't!), but I finally found Cafe De Klos at around 9.30 pm. We got a seat outside on a nice warm evening. We shared the pate to start and both got the mixed ribs. OH-MY-GOD, I don't usually even like ribs, wouldn't order them in any other place. I wouldn't bother with the 'smokey' ones, as has been mentioned on here before, they are quite salty and just not as good as the original. The original ribs were AWESOME, they literally melted off the bone!
10/10 as far as food in Amsterdam goes without a doubt.

Fantastic ribs. They're gigantic - like a plate full of dinosaur bones right out of The Flintstones or something. Delicious. This place is a must every time I go to Amsterdam.

Forget American style in the Dam. If you want that, have a steak before you leave NV.

Go Dutch style with the beef fillet at Cafe Loetje.

Ribs, lamb shoulder, lamb chops were all great. But the tenderloin took top prize:

Went here on Feb 13th 2012. Waiters/Bartenders were friendly, they also wear sweatshirts with the menu printed on the front. Busy even on a Sunday Night. i got there around 5:30pm and they were full by 6:00pm. Popular with locals and tourists alike.
Had normal ribs. The portion was huge and the meat was cooked perfectly had a slight salty taste. Just Lekker!
