Had the ribs and wow they were so nice. i only missed fries..
the sallad was the most delicious sallad i ever eaten i think. the red sauce was also so so good.
the ribs were ok. i make better at home but home is home
oh and the beer.. yum... will deff go back again next time
try the lamb shoulder next time
no ribs for me next time. They have smelled a bit 'piggy' (indicating poor quality) last 2 times now Something likethe lamb perhaps. As long as it isn't horse or dog or something.

Decisions, decisions...
Do I have the Lamb Shoulder here when I visit at the end of the month or the ribs???
Last time, I went to Cafe Loetje instead and had that fantastic fillet...
Perhaps I should just go two nights running and do them both!!

Yup... You're right matty...
Only now I've gone and read about Cisco's Surf N Turf birthday feast at Toro Dorado...
That could have been another prime candidate until I saw the prices on their website... Ooof!!!
Looks very tasty though. And I know Cisco likes his food! I must admit, if it's a special occasion like that, it's a bit easier to swallow

a bill like that, but if you have starters and a dessert as well.... All I'll say is I wouldn't mind if it was MY birthday and someone was treating me, but if I was on my own (as I will be at the end of the month) - I would be thinking more about the amount of extra weed I could buy!!!
I'm a little bit concerned about some of the comments about the ribs not smelling quite right, but I've survived the unlimited ribs at the Satellite Sports Cafe on Leidseplein a couple of times now, so I think I'll probably risk it!!
Anyone been in the last few weeks? Any specials to look out for?

Castell is also a worthy option.

Mmmm - thanks for that one Balou. Nice menu they've got going on there...
Any recommendations? Just seen the "Prime Rib" at the bottom of the menu... <goes into Homer Simpson voice> "Mmmmm - Prime Riiiiiib!"

Had the T-Bone the last time and it was excellent. For Prime Rib Gollem on the Overtoom, go early they often sell out if its busy.

Yer slowing down as you get older

The only thing that'll slow me down is the opening hours. If they all opened at 8am and closed at midnight, I'd be sampling ALL the best steak/rib joints there...
Breakfast? Nothing wrong with a good start to the day, and let's face it - everything's better with BACON! That said, I have found myself working through a couple of plates of ribs early in the morning...
Lunch? Always used to be BurgerBar, but hey... maybe I am getting a little older, as I've had a strange craving to check out La Place one of these days...
Dinner? I don't get to go to Amsterdam as much as I used to or as as much as I want to, so I may as well treat myself. Last time I hit Cafe Loetje, but I've never been to De Klos before, and since I believe it only opens at 16.00 (or thereabouts) I really want to give either (ok, both) the ribs or the lamb a try...

Oh, that's just bloody great!!!
Now I've got THREE things I should try out when I go.... (Ey up fella!)
If only they opened for lunch as well...
Well, the first night will be definitely be De Klos - maybe the ribs, maybe the lamb. Second night was gonna be whichever one I didn't have the first night. Now I'm stumped. Unless I get an order of smoked chicken to take back to the hotel (Vijaya again as usual)... That could sort my late night munchie situation out nicely...
