I live in Paris so I dont know a lot about Normandy, but I guess you should try the website of the french rail, www.SNCF.fr , I think you can turn it to english (cant check myself, I'm on my Iphone)
Normandy's beach are very touristy, so I think it would be easy to move from town to town

Cisco i took my father and his father on a tour of the battlefields before he died. He was a member of the Black Watch reg. ( yes im Scottish on my father side ) and was one of the first ones to open the gates of the Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camps. He was later a guard at the Nuremburg trails, infact one of the family treasures is a hand drawn picture by one of the prisioners of a picture of his wife.

It's a cliche but it changes your life those tours man, try to get to the concentration camps if you can man. I heard described once as ' It taught me nothing knew, but changed my life completely.' That sums it up better than i ever could.
