Which means, the scoreboard is really what matters!
Valid interpretation.

Personally i think it means that i was brought up in a Rugby house which lead to cricket because my local had close links ( most of the backs played in the local cricket team as well.) Also, the scoreboard comment is more to do with the performance on the pitch of the game i am watching, a solid example has been London Irish this year, not champions for sure, but played some of the most solid rugby with the biggest grit IMO on the pitch in the Prem.

After all, we've had a better chance at winning the Euro that the world cup this time round, and i didn't give a shit then.

Fair play man, i'd say that teams performance on the pitch and the pocession they have (regardless of whether it's boring or not) is an important part of the match.
tbh man a team perfoming well and winning is great for fans to look at but im telling you this as an ex player at leeds and dunfermline it can be as ugly as fuck on the pitch but if you walk of with 3 pts you dont give a shit how it happened

GET THE FUCK OUT!! nothing to do with lizzy or your lions, its all to do with your press. sky and bbc have the trophy all shined up and on display LONG before you even play your first game. fair enough england won the world cup in 66 but come on even the english have to be getting pissed off hearing about it at this stage. dont get me wrong its no small feat to have won it, credit where it is due and all but im 26 and as long as i can remember iv heard about it any time england paly
Seriously man, you're telling me the ABE thing has nothing to do with the tribal hatred of England? Don't fuck about man, it's the same in any sport, why in the 6 Nations are the England vs. Scotland/Ireland/Wales/France games more anticipated than the others, because it's tribal. It was after all the Welsh that said loosing the 6 Nations didn't matter as long as they beat England.

God forbit that the countries media get's behind the team with some faith they can win it? What do you want? The media and everyone to walk around saying ' Fuck it, we're not going to win, i'm not even going to watch it. Don't bother watching guys, there's plently of porn online which is a better use of your time?'

You guys get pissed when the English media get behind the England team and are optimistic about our chances? How fucking unreasonable of the media. What an absolute bunch of cunts....

Maybe man, i suppose as a player it's a different perspective than a fan?

EDIT : Leed's fan as well? Bet you're glad to see your boys back in the big leagues?

Fact is man, Englands such a great team that other teams measure their success by drawing with us.
its why in 1954 a nation like Hungary gave england its worst beating EVER of 7-1 ;) Great nation of F...bull!

and they cant even Kick the bull!
they got this record
Most kicks missed, team, all-time
7, England (in 3 shootouts) « LOL

and cant even score!!
Most saves, shootout
3, Ricardo Portugal, vs England, 2006 , LOL!

and marcho basically what i was saying had we had a less skilled keeper in there the score could have easily been 3- 1 or so to england. and shit props to green too he made a clutch save later in the match to deny altidore.
Ah it's a bit shit today man, kinda fits the mood up here, it's the funeral of the guy's brother who shot up a heap of people today. I'm going to the pub but mainly to show the face as a community member than watch the footie man.

Nah man, I think you have mis understood. No problem with the media getting behind the current squad. Thats expected. Its the constant harking back to the days of B&W TeeVee, and some people being on the pitch....
Remember, we folks in the rest of the U.K. get the same coverage you Engerlish get, whether we wan't it or not. Of course its not gonna irk you as much as us, right?

i agree 100% man. if your a team like say...spurs and you win 1-0 to a vastly lesser team like say hull city theres not necessarily reason to celibrate.

over here you see on espn esp basketball players only talking about how they got the w. you dont hear "we got the w but we have alot to work on" as much anymore.
educating myself and waiting for the next trip.

Perhaps not man.

But i don't think that the desire to see England loose is completely down to the media and the reference to missed chances and injustices?

I have no problem with your press getting behind the team and being optimistic but its how over board they go with it and actually belive england losing is a big deal that gets me. the premier league is the best league in the world with out doubt nut its not because the england starting 11 play in it, its the money and foreign palyers that paly in it that make it good.
