Adamster, do not hold back next time, and tell us how you really feel :D .
JK, what do you reccomend for Amsterdam food ?
I found VH Cafeteria to be the most consistantly clean and high quality food in Amsterdam.
We hit it atleast 7 times in one trip, tried breakfast lunch and dinner there, all fantastic and superb quality and service.
The pizza is freekin top notch.

Cooking your own food ;) if you can! avoid AH wit they're over price tourist TRAPS who dont even SELL PEPSI Find a DIRK Van... if you can find one :D « better prices and better Market ... if you cant then id stay away from the WOk to WOK and Burger bars  « both make me sick and are full of Tourist bugs... french pests... african bedbug american tick,And brittish worms were they know they can serve you BAD food and ppl wont give a WOOT!
to say to truth i only like the food of a hand full of restorant in amsterdam! #1 was the hard rock café few year ago and i would go back cause service Sucks!
#2 the casino and #3 would be a resto in Zandvoort were they calm to be the first Belgium frites to open there (1945 or 1845 aint sure)

Yeah cook your own food and give yourself food poisoning like Adamster does.

I've been to Holland over 20 times and eaten all over the place and not once have I gotten food poisoning.

Albert Heijn isn't a tourist trap either, I cant think of a single time I've shopped there when I haven't been spoken too in Dutch first and then when I explain I dont speak the language you get very surprised looks off the staff.

Well tll me why then that at 3 diffrente AH price of beer mustard and most stuff wasnt same price? ;) Okay my Morning drink beside hostel was 1.09
being the palace was .99¢ and by fleur market was 89¢ why? a supermarket here EVER it is wit same NAME should be selling at same prices and not .10-20¢ more on items! that wouldnt work here and would get the item FREE cause a super market wit same name GOT TO SELL ALL ITEM in EACH STORE OF THAT CITY AT THE SAME PRICE!! «BY LAW! so for ME its called RIPPING PPL OFF! and i was TOLD BY DUTCH PPL THAT THEY HAVE A MONOPOLY IN HOLLAND cause ALBERT HEINS WAS OR IS FAMELY FRIENDS WIT THE ROYALS FAMELY just like Sir F. HEINcon....BOYCOTTIN BOTH from now on! i dont not give my MONEY to PPL who FEED off the POOR! try this test for me and youll understand BONER!! next time your in amsterdam buy 2 beers #1 cheap AH beer at 50¢ and 1 HEINI at 80¢ or 83 or 90¢ « depending where you get it! okay go outside and find some police open you HEINI and start drinking it! « the police will come and tell you cant drink in public! okay next go else where open your cheap AH beer infront other cops! « police WILL 100% give you a ticket just cause of the beer your drinking so how you think AH make they're money each year? OFF the POOR F...er who buy then and get tickets from the cop! « AINT BS! Iv seen it be done ASKed WHy to dutch DRunk normal looking street drinkers ...i was told it the way the Queen and friend make they're off the cheap BEER that HEINI make from AH under AH name!! so F... AH and all of them...money hungry

RANt over sorry just piss off about globalization and monopoly's

The Burgers i've had from burger bar were the best burgers i've ever had, seems a lot of people would agree as well. I also have it without any sauce or salad and never had a problem with the staff.
I lived near Amsterdam for a few months and I wouldn't call Albert Heijn a tourist trap, it is more like the Waitrose in Holland, yes you can get the stuff a lot cheaper so shop around. We use to shop at Aldi which was very very reasonable.
