Have a look at www.ba.com if booked in advance they are now really cheaply priced and fly to both Heathrow and Gatwick.

I dont definatly know if any of these flly from heathrow or gatwick but try them out anyway. The posters for them are all over Edinburgh just now.
flytobe.com or transavia.com. Both are offering cheap flights.

I use a great website called Sky Scanner - http://www.skyscanner.net/

It searches loads of air lines and compares prices automatically. Its always been great for me but I know a couple of people have used it and then found cheaper fares elsewhere.

i suggest make friends with someone in the airline business. It would save you alot of money in the long run. My parents work(mom retired) for continental and United. I fly free for a few more years but my friends fly for around $400 round trip to europe. If I want to go non stop to Amsterdam i can get a ticket on northwest for $75 each way(not a typo). Im not suggesting hanging out outside your local airport waiting for airline employees to befriend..but if you ever meet one it wouldn't hurt trying to keep in touch. :)
