Crikey it looks like you got em growing in 101% proof horseshit there Twitch'. If they're beans and yer names Jack it should be fun to watch:D
My garden has been a 25 year "work in progress". and I think it will probably remain so, but always lots of bit's and pieces growing or maybe clinging on to life sometimes to be honest, but I've a butterfly brain and easily distracted

. Getting a few spuds off SS'67 tomorrow, bang em in some tubs. Love new potatoes, used to have an allotment years ago when I was on shift work, very hard to get one now round my way though, and I neeeed one for when I pack up work later this year.
Blue skies and happy diggin'

Miracle Grow, and good Scottish Sunlight...I have a feeling I may have gone over the top on the ol' sowing of the seeds. There are hunners ( Hundreds

) of shoots starting to come up now, some in very thick patches, some really close to the bedding plants, and some right up next to the edge of the container...I'll be damned if I'm digging them up, and spreading them out. They will just have to fight for the right to bloom
Windy and rainy right now, should toughen the S.O.B's right up.

Wow yet another top thread
My garden is in year 2 of restoration, after 8 or 9 years of doing what the leach peddlers told me (as in with your sciatica don’t do gardening)
At the end of Sept 09 my mum & dad paid a man to clear the ivy & other weeds, I then just gave it I quick fork over & left it around the spring equinox 2010
Last year was just a case of trying to get it to look like a garden & half presentable
So far this year I have aubrietia, oriental poppies & lupins in flower the snowdrops have been & gone
With night scented stock & a couple of varieties of “normal” poppies doing rather well from seed
I have also sort of claimed next doors patch of soil and seem to have foxgloves, nasturtiums California poppies & at least one if not 2 varieties of opium poppies in there (It will look like Afghanistan in The West Riding with a bit of luck)
I will try to sort some photos out soon
Once again great thread the green fingers seem to be catching

Part way through the second day of the man clearing it

& 2 of after my quick forking over

A few more from late March 2010 I had left it over the winter & started on it the week of the spring equinox
(well it's the start of spring & I am old fashioned like that

)
I had just got the weed Control sheet down at the back & decimated what used to be the lawn
Then my mate down the yard offered me some bricks to keep the weed sheet down & I had got the first plants in
More to come..........

If only I could the yard is rather public so the local law enforcement community might take an interest, if the local scrotes didn’t raid it first
I just hope none of them put 2 & 2 together and come up with 5 about the opium poppies this year as there will be a huge amount this year (mostly in next doors bit)
And last year I wanted to keep the wall clear so I could get in with weed killer to finish off any of the ivy & dreaded bind weed, but this year a few sweet peas are in to grow against it, maybe real peas next year if the yall stays clear
Anyway a few more photos of last year
These 2 i had given the mossey mud patch hell & just added the grass seed mid April or there abouts
And a few from the 20th of June As the summer solstice was almost upon us I thought I would treat the garden to a new bench (£35 from wilkinsons)
The only edibles in it last year were courgettes and a few herbs coriander and chives, I did put some garlic in but the courgettes swamped them
I found the remnants when I dug it over late last year split them & at the mo I have 3 good looking garlic plants on the go
One thing this has brought home to me is that those last few were 20th June last year & it looks good but empty compared to what it looks like now
& It isn’t even half past May yet
Must get some work done now but will get some of it so far this year up soon

Cheers for that chap

I only live in a back to back & on a main road, but am round the back so it can be quiet even during the day
But come the weekend you just can’t beat a coffee & the first J of the day sat on the bench watching the sparrows & blackbirds
this is what it looked like in early August
You can see a few of the opium poppies that came up last year from seed in the ground from the last time I had it looking half decent
And my lavender hedge about 3 weeks after planting it, all grown from seed as well
It’s just a shame the night scented stock looks crap in the daylight, looks ace as the flowers start to open around twilight
And the smell is awesome
I will get some from this year up at some point

I would love to grow catnip in my garden but I don't want 101 cats in my back garden.
I tried growing it in my house last year and it was a flop, I guess I don't have green fingers.

Beautiful 25211

.you've worked wonders resurrecting that modest patch of ground. It's great how you have, possibly with out meaning to turned that wonderful dark yorkshire stone wall into a focal feature. We used to visit our daughter in Bradford when she lived there, and go walking in the moors and peaks and when I see a piece of stone like that I get a nice feeling, it's a real special part of the country

. Enjoy the birds and the herbs in your eden

.
Happy trails.

my old cat mocha used to love catnip ... one day i went to the garden center to buy some plants for the herb garden and saw a catnip plant and thought i'd give it a try ... so i got home and went to the garden, put the small pot of catnip down on the ground, knelt down to dig over the patch where the catnip was to go, then turned around to get the pot and found that my cat had just eaten the entire top of plant off and was looking at me quite strangely ... well he was tripping and off he went doing some rather silly things
SS did your cat look like this?

well done ... a display of a good bit of gardening skill ... overall really fine work on transforming a patch of rough ground into a nice little garden
that cat sat in just one place ... mine regressed into kittenhood and started leaping about into the air when spooked by the wind or a shadow or absolutely nothing at all
