Spidergawd, I do know what you mean about the wall I deliberately left it bare last year just because of the ivy that was there before & while I killed it down in the bit next door as well
But I do like they way it looks, and it also faces as near as dam it south which is handy
StonedSince'67, thanks for that after reading the thread on your garden I take that as a huge compliment
Anyway since most people seem to like what it looked like last year I've just had a quick wander round with the camera & first joint after getting in from work
I must say I am chuffed with how it looks to say it's only half past May
A close look at the Poppies coming in next doors bit
I cant think why I like lupins so much, they seem to remind me of another plant
The lavender seems to be coming on nicely to say it's only just over a year since the seeds were sown
The garlic with chives in flower behind them
I have some lettuces to go in soon, pack of mixed seeds to try to grow as cut & come again type
Will probably end up with a few in troughs as well
Everyone keep those fingers green, I am looking forward to see how the rest of your gardens come on

Second pic looks like ganj, I like your planters mate, just keep thinning them out, some that you replant will make it (if your dog doesn't pee on them), I'm really not very good at IDing plants at such a young age but I still say theres some sunflowers there (I'll ask the mrs to have a look as she's the gardener here (out not in

)), keep up the good work.

If it is, it is HomebaseSpecialBlend

...is there much chance of a random Hempseed getting in the packets, or not?

At a friends last night and he showed his baby's to me, doesn't yet know if male or female but they look good and shouldn't be long before signs begin to show.

I dont see why not, I normally have a few growing around the base of my bird table each year but things can change very quickly so dont get too excited.

Well, if it shows progress, I'll transport it to the grounds of the local constabulary.

Twichaldinho, I recon No4 could well be California poppies
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PoppyAlbino.png
They are an ace annual, can cope with really crap soil & go ape if fed, and best of all
If you let them set seed come up everywhere the following year
(Even between the bricks in my yard)
If not it defiantly has the look of some sort of poppy about it
This weeks flower of the week is definetly
The Lupin

Thanks alot, of all the seeds I bought, they were the only ones I could remember the name of. Now they have been Identified, I can start inserting them into any crevice, and shitey wee corner I can find...I love the word Hardy.

From my experience Hardy is an understatement as far as California poppies are concerned
This lot in next doors bit are growing wild from seed, that was in the ground and came up last year when I turned it over then set seed again
So if you get them in the ground the chances are you will have them every year
& with my coffee & 06:00 joint this morning I spotted that they are starting to form flowers
Now back to watching the blackbirds expertly picking worms out of the lawn

At the moment no, it must be about 2 weeks since I had the hose pipe out
But I have done a hell of a lot of watering it so far this year as at the end of march when it was garden wake up time
I attacked the grass with the mower as low as it would go & the lawn rake then added some more grass seed to thicken it up
this was 24/03/2011
But just like last year put the grass seed down in early spring in hope of April showers
& It doesn’t rain for weeks/month
The thing that I recon makes it look so nice (on the photos anyway) is feeding it
El-Cheepo liquid lawn food from wilkinsons (about £2 a bottle) 60ml in to 9Ltrs and it does it all
& I just happen to have a 2 gallon watering can

^^ I use a feed and weed and my grass isn't nowhere near as nice as yours looks.
I've got purple clover which is taking over my grass
