Good luck son, I am considering a move out there myself, all the best to you & the mrs, the pair of you will find something work-wise I'm sure.
Bartending is a good shout for temp work, but these days there are a lot more English-speaking office jobs about in Holland as well. Whatever the case, keep 'em peeled as Shaw Taylor used to say (1 for all you slightly older British crime show fans) and you are bound to get work of some sort.
Stay lucky!

ftcarer your memory is better than mine! It was indeed called 'Police 5'. Was it on Sundays mate, if so, the best thing on (I still love the repeats on Challenge TV) was Bullseye....super, smashing, great in a nutshell!
At the time the Smurfs was the nuts yes, must re-visit it and see if it has aged well - unlike the A-team which is laughable when I watch it now, but was everyone's favourite TV show when I was 7.

Best of luck to you both CSS,tried to convince the missus to do it to no avail, love to hear how your going, hope you keep us posted, big respect for giving it a go

.
Do you speak Dutch?,one concern i had was i ashamedly

haven't learnt much in all my trips, whenever i try they always answer in english or worse give me a big sentence back in dutch, expecting a reply, making me feel more of a tit when i can't(saying that, nobody understands my scots stoned mumble either).
Hitting Dam again in August,if you are around would be cool to have a blether and a toke, hope it works out for you and the missus buddy, best wishes on 'livin the dream'.Peace,Embraman

Do you mind if I ask if you're doing it legit or just planning on going there and not leaving? If so, what about work permits, resident permits etc..?

I pretty sure he's from England, no work/residence permit required.
