British Doctors Told Not To Prescribe New Cannabis Drug

British MS patients have waited 11 years for Sativex, a cannabis-based oral spray. Now many of them still won't get it.
Doctors in southern England have been told not to prescribe a new cannabis-based drug developed for multiple sclerosis patients, reports the BBC.

Sativex, an oral spray which had taken 11 years to develop, was licensed for medical use in the United Kingdom last week.

But unaccountably, 10 primary care trusts have told physicians not to give the treatment, which is designed to reduce pain, claiming it is not effective.

The MS Society charity called the decision "arbitrary and disappointing" and said it would fight against it. It said the decision could affect hundreds of patients.

Medical reasons is a fucking stupid way to argue the legalisation cause.

Just my opinion.

Yeah, it is a stupid way to argue the legalisation cause.

But it might just work.

Who wants to be the arsehole standing in between a sick person and their medicine?

The public do need exposure to the real world of marijuana, and if medicinal use can be the 'foot in the door' as it were, then so be it.

the only way its got even a 1% chance of being legalised in the uk, is if all the red tops were outlawed, as long as theyre spouting their shite to the proles, theirs no chance

I'm not so sure now. Maybe I've had enough of being a pessimist.

Drug Prohibition does not stand up to any form of scrutiny. More and more people are appreciating this. It cannot survive.

I don't think it will, remove from the old argument against the Parental Principle for law making and it's shakey ground.

It's dependable on studies further proving that the uses of Cannabis are best used by Cannabis, plus in England we'll never have the Cali system, medicine will come in the medical proffession in a steralised form losing it's association with Cannabis as we know it.

Or it just won't work, look at LSD, a drug that is extremely useful in pyschological treatment isn't allowed/accepted by society.

Argue the Parental Principle is false because it goes along with what the Toris think, i.e big Government being involved in our lifes. They'll be the ones who would most reject any legalisation, it's those cunts we need on side.
