Day 6 Tue april 25 ............ the long good bye

Post by bluelaru »

Day 6 Tue April 25…………….the long goodbye

I try to stay sleeping as long as possible for once day starts the sadness will begin
My last day in the dam. Strange even sleeping I feel the panic rise as my eyes creep
Open, Hello day, and thus begins the long goodbye.

We make a list of about 10 things to do…and set off to do…We arrived at het comidumier ? not exactly sure of spelling…kind of working off memory( ok so you remember about the book…yes it has a page, where I could look up the information
However it the book is in a set of clamps…trying to smooch back down from all the gluing)
Remember I told you before I was different…what I meant was I have issues…way another story….look even now I’m trying to stall …

I was totally unaware that you could collect condoms…in plastic bubble cases
That look like eggs…OMG…plastic Easter eggs for adults…We met three wonderful ladies…who answered all of our questions…even when I was being silly… (Judy bonded
With one of the ladies who sister had jumped out a plane…and was urge ring her to go…It made her feel better to see that someone Judy’s age of 50 skydived)….so after buy
The shark… (Was there any doubt) for my new collection…

Back walking around…we go around to Zeedijk…Ha….Broad bright daylight….here bresties…over to the ode kirk...one circle around…ok delivery truck blocking sidewalk
We’ll check when he moves in the mean time we circle around the church…now he moved…still no bresties…come on how can we be sooo blind. We check out the Asian market. The head down St Annoniebreestraat… we headed for waterloopein, and Amsterdam city hall… and the …NAP…Normal…Super interspersing, display, and also
Actual accurate measuring device that measures the water level in Amsterdam.
WTF…camera malfunction again…I’m not working it so you cant blame me…But WTF
Every time I get near water…ok I was trying to take a photo in-between a crack of the water drifting under us…OMG…just busted myself…It is operator not camera…

We head toward the flower market by walking next to the canal. I really love walking thru the flower market…and one of the things I miss most about the city….its the colors
And energy. We pick up some more of that tourist crap which means we need to back to the room. We find that the booby trap I set every time we leave room, has been triggered
( come on did you really expect anything less ) …I go to sort it all out, nothing has been touched…but we did have the do not disturb on.. so no one should gone in….Security will have to be call and the computer key card thingy will have to be read… long of it all
Rooms man saw us leave and just checked to see if we needed anything….Ok

Off we go to enjoy…we end up at the big grasshopper…we order the Hamburger and I go off for what will be my last purchase….Kali mist 3.6 grams for 59 euro.

We finally reach Sensi Seed… I buy book about Eagle Bill …the Amsterdam game,
And 2 t-shirts…one a big giant smiling bud… and the hash museum t-shirt…we wander
Around the red light dist…there always seems to be people just hanging out… and strolling around…I really do enjoy walking up one side and down the other… then out and up to the dam square…make a few more touristy buys….I try to walk down a different street but found myself being pulled in the direction of what I have been calling HEAVEN… oh yeah…the one across from 420…I try to fight but its too late…I’m caught in the retracto beam…dam you choc thing…Apparently I should owe my life
To never having a Brownie…Grats…Much grass man… to Blueberry…who sent me
The healthy warning.

Now We go back to room…and try to fit all of Holland in suitcase.

I find myself yelling
Inside
Good bye….Dam Square….good bye…carnival…..good bye…..damrik
Goodbye…you pesky trams…sorry…Good bye…canal boats

Good bye Amsterdam and good night

So you reckon your room was broken into while you were out?

Seems a bit odd, especially as it has one of those electronic key locks but I suppose they can be picked just like standard lock if you had the right equipment.

On first reading I thought it might just have been the cleaners who had been in but it does sound a bit more sinister than that AND on your last day when things are already bad enough because you have to leave.

Bit of a bummer but at least no harm was done and the rest of the day seemed to work out better.

Thanks for posting some brilliant reports bluelaru. Enjoyed reading them very much, and sure to do so again before my next trip.

The last day does suck, but it's still a day in Amsterdam and you seemed to make the most of it.

My girlfriend and I sometimes play a sort of bluesy tune, usually happens when we've been reminiscing over our trip together. All she sings though is "I left my heart in old Amsterdam"... Kinda bittersweet, makes us both too sad with longing, so we never work on it. I fear writing the lyrics would be a painful task (then again, I get way to emonional about it...;))

(Five minutes 'til midnight, and one day closer to my dear old Dam :))

Great final report bluelaru. Everyone who's been knows the feeling on that last day. Glad you and Judy had a great time. Will see you in December or for sure, 4/20/07. Talk to you soon. AzLaker 8)
