indica vs. sativa: mechanism?
indica vs. sativa: mechanism?
This question is coming from a real amatuer, but I don't understand the differences attributed to sativa and indica. If THC is the onlyactive ingredient, how can one type give a head high and the other a body high? I understand it could be a dosage thing, but not a true difference in effects. Are other psychoactive compounds present in the different types of weeds? I think this might be regarded as a meaningless question, but I am curious about this since so much time is devoted to discussing the relative attributes of sativa and indica on this and other forums.
The answer, as you guessed, is that there are active substances other than THC.

As mentioned, there are active compounds aswell as the psycho-active THC. THC is what people go on about most because it is the psycho-active ingrediant affecting the mind rather than body. CBD being the other main compound for effect, giving the heavy body feel.
So if a sativa THC/CBD ratio was
3:2
An indica would be
2:3
example only as they vary from plant to plant. Even the same strain will vary somewhat.
