FESTINI

Post by puffpuffgive »

I have searched the forum, and it seems that no-one has mentioned Festini yet. These are a fruit ice lolly made with real fruit juice, only available in the netherlands, and THEY ARE DELICIOUS.

"with real pear"

The weather for my most recent trip was scorching hot, and I was in in need of icy refreshment. I picked a pear (peren) Festini out of a freezer, they can vary in price from 60 cents to 1.40 (tourist beware!), and THEY ARE DELICIOUS. The taste is amazing, fresh pears, they even retain the texture of pear. If you like to drink pear Loozas and you're in Dam this summer, you should check these out. They're a lot like a frozen pear Looza. They're widely available wherever you see a shop dangling an 'Ola' (Walls et al) ice cream sign from the front.

Ingredients: Water, perenpuree(20%), glucose-fructosestroop, suiker, stabilisator(johannesbroodpitmeel), natuurlijke aroma's, voedingszuur (citroenzuur), vitamine C.

That's the Algida ice cream logo in Italy. mmmm...Magnum. So what's the deal? Is it just one big ice cream conglomerate where the name changes depending on the country but the logo remains the same?
