Trainwreck

Post by Iko »

I suffer from soft tissue damage in my neck, causes large amounts of pain and large discomfort.
I was researching best pain relieving strains, and many searches bring me to Trainwreck.
I found this quite strange as it is highly sativa dominant, the original is supposed to be 90-10, the current ones 70-30.
Am i missing something, is Sativa actually a better pain relief, or does this strain contain some other property.
Thanks all.

Sativa genetics but have seen it in a couple of shops labelled as Indica. Got it from Greenplace and it had Indica feeling, enjoyed it a lot. Is this right then? Or was i possibly sold something else as Trainwreck?? Hmmm.... :?

Trust me guys T.W. is NOT a Indica.
Unless someone is pulling a fast one and selling AK or something in the TW tub :? .

From what I can find the lineage is this:

Trainwreck (Woodhorse) Mexican X Colombian X Afghani
Trainwreck = Afghani x [Lowland Thai x Mexican/columbian]

Afghani is 100% Indica so it cant be 90% sativa.

Don't you mean many searches bring you to "a" Trainwreck?

Who says Trainwreck is a good medical strain?

Boner and sh@dy, these are for you. http://cannabis.wikia.com/wiki/Trainwreck http://trainwreckseeds.com/
Just to throw a wrench into the works, we have this gem from http://www.headsite.com/trainwreck--gre ... -226-p.asp which states that Trainwreck is Indica dominant. Now I am totally confused, NOT.

Boner wrote "Afghani is 100% Indica so it cant be 90% sativa."
Uhm, maybe the Afghani represents the 10% Indica in the Trainwreck. I liken this to mixing a drink - 4.5 parts Mexican, 4.5 parts Thai, and 1 part Afghani. Make sense now?

Or how about this - since Afghani is 100% Indica, it can't be 90% Sativa otherwise it wouldn't be 100% Indica.

Thanks Ron, great info , and again in your own link :

" I found Trainwreck is excellent for pain, particularly the chronic pain of back disorders, arthritis, and neuropathy. At the compassion center in Arcata, CA, which I attened on a regular basis patients were given color coded packets that contained either Wreck, Jack Frost, or another strain that I’ve forgotten. 95% chose the Wreck. LOL, I was one of the only “judges” that picked the Jack because Train Wreck is usually to strong for me :-) Train Wreck probably should be avoided by patients who have dissociative disorders or tend to psychosis because it’s so strong. When your back aches, though, Train Wreck is just the right ticket."

the dispensary i go to lists trainwreck as being good for relieving migraines. i would think it must be sativa dominant as indica strains don't help my migraines at all. the website has it listed as 100% sativa but, from what i've read on the forum, that seems very doubtful.

trainwreck is good for migraines but if it the kind of pain that's severe severe i'd go more for as pure an indica as i can get(personally i love trainwreck) but i also found LA con from tweed kammer was great for curing sore feet in the Dam...(i couldn't feel any pain in them after i had some)

Trainwreck from the Green Place was a light, fruity daytime & motivational high. Very nice & I went back for more. Didn't behave like an indica for me, i assumed painkilling strains would be the heavy, narcotic indicas like the 'cheese family' (cheese, blue cheese, big bhudda cheese ad nauseum)
maybe depends how its been grown and also it will affect individual people in different ways.

Your welcome Iko. The bit about TW was to inquire as to where you came across this info. My point being to check out your sources, maybe even learn a thing or three. :)

Cheers.
