Would love to hear everyone's favorite. Our current is Thai Bird. They have two places across from each other on the Zeedijk, on a restaurant one a snackbar with little tables.

Bird rocks, best Thai food in Amsterdam. There are other places which are good, but the food from Bird just has that little extra. Have even had this confirmed by my Thai-Dutch friends

For delivery Thailicious is OK, not great. But they deliver everywhere.

It looks like they gave their delivery to a third party

i dont have a partucular fave thai place in the dam. been to one or two. i do have thai dishes i loike. yellow curry, panang curry, ginger chicken , green curry(when i feel dangerous) and a good shrimp pad thai. good peanut sauce is nice too. not the cheap runny stuff you get at the supermarket or very westernized places.

Pauli - I've eaten at the Blue Elephant restaurant in Bangkok. Awesome! Keep meaning to try the place in London, but still haven't done so.
The best in Dam is Thai Bird in my opinion. Only tried the restaurant though, which was excellent, but I have also heard great (if not better) things about their snack bar.

The wife and i visited the white elephant on the Van woustraat as i had heard good things. i had a thai coconut chicken soap to start the mrs satay skewers. the skewers came as a three piece. one lamb, one chicken and king prawn. They were huge and perfectly cooked !!! as for the soap perfect spicy coconut goodness with that hint of lemongrass etc. Ohhhh and when i say spice i mean spicy made my eyes bloody water something chronic. (and i like hot food trust me) took my breath away that was for sure. !!!! for main we both had lamb massaman curry. wow. Ive been to thailand and eaten in a quite few thai establishments but this was the best ive ever tasted. the crunchy cashews against the warm soft lamb in that sauce was to die for. it was on the expensive side of things 7-12 euro a starter and 18 - 26 euro a main dish. which all come with sticky rice. The food we recieved was more than worth the price tag for the quality alone. our bill was around 75 euro i believe but it was my wifes 40th and we did want one decent meal during our stay. Fantastic food lovely ambience. check it out if you can.

Was just wandering around, as you do, and stumbled upon Thai Bird also - was actually the snack bar one that grabbed my attention, really busy, smelt like good fresh food with a cool open to view kitchen, so had to stop... Chili and Basil Prawn has got a seriously fierce kick to it... and then some!
Cheers for the reminder Marco

Wanted to make a note of remembering this one, which I'd completely failed to do, lol. Can't say I've tried any other Thai places in Holland, but first impressions for me is that the Bird's gonna be a difficult one to beat.

I've tried Thai Bird and to be honest I didn't think it was up to much compared to the food in Thailand. However the portions are huge and the friendly/crowded ambiance make it a good option for a quick pit stop. Will go in and try the Kapow Moo (pork fried with chilli, basil and garlic) next time. This is a staple dish in Thailand. If they can't make that then they can't cook at all!
