Purportedly, the Dampkring shops contracted with an entity based in Morocco known as "Rifman." Their Rifman line of hashes are supposedly cultivated with "responsible growing practices" to meet certain "high standards." Whether that entails all-organic pesticides and fertilizers and proper curing, I can't be sure from reading their marketing palaver, and I believe is intentionally meant to be vague.

To be sure, Paul Wilhelm and his cronies were interested in promoting a brandname for which customers would pay a premium. I've always enjoyed the various Rifmans I've had the past -- whether they are actually any better than any other hash on offer from a 4+4 mom-and-pop cs is arguable. Hope this helps.

Rifman Promotional Information:

Fact 1: For years many farmers in Morocco have used chemical fertilizers on their land. This has caused a decline in the quality of the soil which in turn has inhibited plant growth and has lead to deterioration in the strength, taste and aroma of the hashish.

Fact 2: A lot of farmers quick dry their plant (e.g. on hot tin roofs) and allow no time for curing the hashish which is essential to maximize the quality. This results in the hashish tasting green and young and is weak in strength.

Fact 3: Sometimes in the pressing of the hashish pollen, additives such as oils, glues or sap from pine trees (called Resina) are used to enhance poorer qualities of hashish. Also the practice of mixing good with poor quality hashish is widespread.

Rifman is using over 30 years of experience to set new high standards in the growing and processing of the cannabis plant. Rifman personally selects hashish from small farms giving preference to farmers who use only natural fertilizers and who adhere to sensible drying and processing principles. In return, these farmers receive a higher price for their product. So when you smoke with Rifman you are not only benefiting yourself, but are also contributing to a better future for the farmer, his family and the land on which they depend. Please try to smoke Rifman hashish pure, not only because tobacco is so harmful, but you can then enjoy the full taste and effect of the hashish. All Rifman products are guaranteed free from additives.

Ive had a few, all very good. 'xmas special' was the best at E18 per g in 08. And i think they are all afghan plants grown in morocco.
