Nick Clegg's party members want brothels and cannabis legali

Post by Boner »

Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg was yesterday facing calls from within his own party ranks to adopt a radical liberal agenda, legalising brothels, cannabis, and medically assisted dying.

Liberal Democrat MEP Chris Davies urged Mr Clegg --who is leading a government drive to scrap unnecessary and outdated legislation -- to follow the example of the Dutch when it comes to such issues.

"Maybe it's a consequence of our sanctimonious tabloid press, or an unwillingness here to confront the disproportionate influence of religious extremists, but when it comes to dealing with controversial issues like drugs, prostitution and medically assisted dying, the Dutch are simply more grown-up," he said.

I voted Liberal Democrat because of their ideas about cannabis legalisation, but since Clegg seems to have very little say in this coalition, I wasted my vote and it was efectively a vote for the tories... and Cameron does my head in!

I know where your coming from, but the reason people like Cameron get into power is because most people think precisely that its a waste of time to vote, but remember if you dont vote you can't moan about who you get in charge, if everyone was forced to vote I think the face of politics would be very very different.

I am crossing everything for California in November..........

I can't see it being legalised in the UK unless the US does.

Politicians are so silly; if they legalised weed here, the economics of the country would improve vastly.

Still, they have alcohol and fags to fall back on....

http://www.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/int/news/-/ ... a-11506438 even facecrook top dogs are backing this drive to ease up, and chill out on these old fashioned, over bearing, money wasting laws on drugs, just take a look at Portugal http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11454671
take away the illegal fixation, and the fascination disintegrates, shift the cost of prosecution and jail time to education, prevention, and treatment of hard drug miss use!
in my opinion, its a matter of time, old gives way to the new, look at how we have progressed over time!

Governments exist because they're vital. We participate in the election of them through voting because it's the best system we have to attributing this power. Anarchy does not provide answers, only questions. Support democracy and at least try and make a change, or don't and let the bastards piss on you and don't say anything about it. If you're asking me, no-ones going to piss on me and tell me it's raining without me telling them to fuck off, even if it doesn't change the situation.
