badbone... the Mrs and I got talking about a euro "dream" vacation for a couple years from now... plan is to take 14-21 days and go to a few countries we've never been... Germany, Russia, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain... I'm going to add a note to make sure we heavily consider going to Denmark.

Hi badbone, would you have any advice on where to stay near Christiania?
I understand there is no accommodation available in the area itself but wondered if you might know of any cheap hotels nearby, preferably with smoking rooms!

@ Tranquilised.. Sorry

... I know virtually nothing about accommodation options in Copenhagen

.. but I found this elsewhere on this thread

The included breakfast far surpasses included breakkies in A'dam...plentiful Danish ham, cheeses, eggs, cereal...the works.
Here's the website

Christiania is about a 20 minute walk from there...don't fret, plenty to see along the way.
Lion King wrote:Sorry guys dunno much about hotels in Cph but ive heard good things about Danhostel (on Langebro) and its pretty close to Christiania.
Sas Radisson hotel (4 or 5 stars) is also close by i think its expensive though
Copenhagen is about the same size as Amsterdam so no matter where you stay its easy to get to Christiania.

Great news for cannabis smokers and anti-fascists around the world!
The Christianites have after very long negotiations bought the area from the danish state. Price 76,2 million kroner.
The people are very happy- time to celebrate!!!!

i was there late april and it was great! the airport is less than ten minutes from the city center by tram and from the city center its about a 20 minute walk to christiania (there are buses aswell!) i smoked all over the citiy just kept it discret and never had a problem and hardly ever saw a cop other than speeding by with the blue lights on.
denmark is extremly expensive almost double than amsterdam to give u some rough figures if u buy an 0.5 liter bottle of water at 7eleven its 3,95 euro you should try and find an aldi

christiania as such i considered is a little alternative paradise youll feel welcome and great the minute u enter no matter at what time of the day the stalls where there and there are plenty stalls to check out! i hung out at nemos cafe alot u can sit outside ..smoke drink play chess....theres food stalls and restaurants in christiana the most commercial thing i came across was a kebab. make sure to buy some christiania beer at the christiania store is delicious! feel free to ask if u have any other qeustions

@badbone : would be fun to meet you up and share a couple of joints someday around your corner.
Takes me around 1-2 hours to get there from Helsingborg , been there many times but would be really fun with someone that knows it really good around there.
