Help on euro's

Hi all

Going to Amsterdam on Tuesday 24th and our money arrived yesterday by post. They have sent half of it in 200 Euro notes. We have been told by the guy that we are renting the apartment from to get these changed in the UK to smaller notes as no-one will accept them. If we do this we are going to lose over 50 euro's as no-one in the UK will just swap them for smaller notes, they want to buy them at the higher rate and then sell back to us.

Has anyone managed to break a 200 Euro note whilst in Amsterdam, and is so what is the best place to do this and what are the fee's??

Thanks for reading any advice welcomed!!![/b]

If you walk down the Damrak theres a couple on Dam Square, ABN is one: Clicky for street view.

I cant guarantee they wont charge you but I wouldn't of thought so.

At Hunters we will be happy to take them from you, provided you buy something obviously. Same goes for the 500s if you have any of those. I would actually expect this to be the case with most coffee shops, though obviously I could not say that with any degree of certainty.

Cheers!
