Ok, long story short, I am waiting on a pretty large check that Im using a small portion of for my Amsterdam trip.
I am wanting to stay at Apartment Paul but fear it will be booked by the time I get the cash to reserve it. So, as a back up I plan to stay at either Abba or Old Quarter, any suggestions one way or the other?

I'd choose Old Quarter only because I stayed there before with no probs & it's more central

Thanks for the reply. So, you found the room to be comfortable? I am going solo but am older and will probably spend some time chilling in the room especially in the evenings. I thought about using Priceline for a 4* also but again I wanna be able to smoke weed in the room without the fear of being thrown out...

Very basic but suited me fine , going solo I spend as little as poss in the room though , just a place to crash really when my throat starts screaming at me

Not stayed at old quarter but Abba is cool , no probs toking and its closer to De Pijp and Boerjongens , Bij etc

depends really what you're into. I mean, Abba is out on overtoom, old quarter bottom of Warmostraat.
