This is a great burger joint in De Pijp, near the Albert Cuypmarkt tram stop.

I had a delicious veggie burger and my mates had beefburgers which they raved about.

The website's here.. http://www.burgermeester.eu/

Anyone ever been?

No chips (fries) and egg plant on a burger? I'll stick to Burger Bar. ;)

I am not a big fan, for the first reason Boner states above. Burgers without fries is just blasphemy, lol.

Burgermeester is the best ;) The no fries option is the reason I like it :)

baked potato. half a corn cob. green salad. mozzarella salad. parmasen and rocket salad.

also juices, milkshakes and iced-tea.

toffeecake and white choc cheesecake for dessert.

i love burgerbar but burgermeester's burgers are a complex work of art in comparison to burgerbar's big solid simplicity. imo

I tried both Burger Bar and Burgermeester last July when I visited Amsterdam.

For me it's really hard to compare the two places, as they both suit different needs.

Where Burger Bar is a quick pick-up-and-eat place, Burgermeester makes more of a gourmet burger. Both places rock, so I would recommend everyone looking for a good burger to try them both.

Oh, and yeah, kind of a disappointed that you couldn't get fries with your burger at Burgermeester. A salad just isn't the same. The taste of the burger itself weighed up for it though.

The burger I had at Burger Meester was DELICIOUS. This establishment is clean friendly and bigger than burger bar for eating in. The Beefburger Royale I had was possibly one of the best I have ever had. my mouth is watering as I write this. .I know they dont do chips which gets to some people..but they do delicious looking corn on the cob and baked potatoes and when the burger is as flavoursome and big as i had, you dont really need chips or anything to go with it. 5 stars I cant wait to have another one..
(ps i had a kobe burger from burger bar the following day and it just didnt stand out against the BURGER MEESTER!)

Here is the MENU and MAP showing all the locations:

I agree looks very tasty. Any place that offers pancetta is right up my alley!

Even with no frites I think it will be worth a visit in January.

The lack of fries don't bother me that much but the first time I went in I wasn't aware they didn't sell them, being daft I just assumed, the look I got when I asked was the type of look you'd give someone who told you they'd just filmed a scat video with your little sister. Sheer disgust and anger! Could have sworn I was in Paris again asking for metro advice at the metro information desk...

I actually prefer the burgers at Burger Bar for a dirty munchie snack, but this place is no doubt quality at what it does.

Probs won't go back though.
