crohns is an approved disease for medical marijuana in my state, but they are quick to tell ya the cannabis wont cure it, but will =help to alleviate symptoms and discomfort. so yea cure seems to be a stretch but it would be nice. thats just my states take on the subject.

on a side note, hope ya feel better colin, crohns is no fun iv got a few friends who have it.

Yes Prestoned I actually did think that the OP was severely lowering the tone of the forum.

I may have been emotional in my first couple of posts but I shan't apologise for that, this is something that for me is emotional. I also feel that in my third post I pointed out that this was an emotional issue for me in order to show i was not simply attempting to act the bollox or lower any tones.

I do think that one thing that lowers the tone is "why dont we just smoke some and get along" attitudes that show up whenever there is an debate of any kind. Or even worse to suggest that some people are only involved in this debate because they are tetchy and need a smoke. Stoner's leave themselves down all the time with that kind of rubbish, its where the hippies failed. Smoking joints does not make peace happen. Smoking joints wont make this stuff go away i'm afraid. Smoking joints is really not the answer to everything. And just cos its a stoner forum does not mean we should not debate things and it certainly does not mean the only acceptable type of comments are ones that agree that marijuana is the solution to the world's health and wellbeing problems. How do you expect the world to take you seriously if as a group you behave like unbalanced fundamentalists?

Though admittedly the debate tends to disappear as soon as stanky gets involved, no scratch that the debate continues till he has his back against the wall and then it devolves into paranoid claims and name calling. Prehaps you would do us all a favour and stick to the conspiracy theories and leave the adults do their own thing?

Puffin, while I never thought you'd stop posting homemade youtube medical claims I do think you could at least be a bit more respectful about the fact that some people (and not just me) are upset/offended by claims of cure being bandied around left right and centre with nothing but anecdotal evidence to back it up. A bit of respect is all I expected from you but that was obviously too much to ask. Go ahead and post what you wish (as is your right) but next time dont make a joke out of other peoples feelings on the subject, feelings due to real world experience with disease and death.

I just want to say also that its nothing personal against you, other than the dubious medical posts I have found you to be decent person. But tbh the way you approach the subject of mmj makes you seem like the conspiracy theorist stoner equivalent of Glen Beck. As for anecdotal evidence, I'll let you in on a secret. Not so long ago I might have agreed that cannabis was curing my illness. I was misguided by the fact that I desperately wanted a cure and I wanted to justify drug use. Does this mean I think cannabis has no medical use - quite the opposite, in fact I use to medicinally and encourage the proper medicinal use.

Why do I think you engage in minor delusion? Because you think there are members here who have failed or do fail to "handle" what you post. Also you think that you are being stalked and that it is anybody but yourself who cries and gets pissy.

on a side-note for those who have shown a little compassion and interest in the subject of crohn's i will report that I am actually in very good health at the moment. Its all relative but i haven't had a major flair-up for coming up to four years now. Its something i've had for as long as i can remember but nowadays I manage it better than ever before, its a learning curve!

And while i context many of them, because as you say i agree that the fear of Schizophenria causes a heap of problems for some, there are heaps of studies showing the bodies abilty to re-create symptoms the mind thinks one has. I think it is a logical leap to apply this to mental health. I think to rubbish the link between mental illness and Cannabis as 'garbage' as total is completely misleading.

Also, as i've said millions of times, annecdotal evidence is not enough to prove anything. It indicates the need for scientific investigation, nothing more.

This is of course completely pointless as this will result in a personal attack on me and ignoring any of my points around me either being a 'bitch/cry baby etc.' But a point to be made none the less.

Also, i thought from your last thread postings one couldn't comment on scientific studies unless they're a scientist? So what gives you the right to call this Doctor, or as you say 'dumb bitches' study? You're not a scientist right? So you can't commend right?

I was referring to the original study that sparked the whole bullshit connection in the first place. Care to provide any QUALITY evidence from any of the subsequent studies? Good luck cause they're all fucking bullshit.

The problem I have with these schizo studies is they don't really use science. They all use statistic probability and indirect cause and effect. I surely have the right to question that don't I. Oh and try not to mislead people by calling those studies scientific, they're just plain studies.

What quantifies a scientific study then, for that matter, what quantifies the words science and scientist. I think for your purposes you keep it a very narrow band. Before the 1800s what were scientists called?....aren't Psychologists scientists?...Biology?...In fact, isn't everybody a scientist. Ya get up in the morning it's cold, ya get up in the morning it's cold, ya get up in the morning it's warm because you set the timer on the heating, study, theory, experimentation, increased knowledge and can be repeated by other people under the same conditions....science at work. So, If somebody spends their life in a certain subject or field of knowledge, creating theories, perfoming 'studies' and optaining answers to the point they're regarded as an expert by their piers, yet getting no recognised qualifications..are they not still a scientist in that field?. Hmmm what then is the minimum amount of knowledge needed in a subject before it isn't enough to question other peoples results...and how is that rated. Also, in regards to philosophy in science, Stem cell research and cloning have to be 2 fields that are rife with it, don't ya think.
