Post flight morning

Post by tron »

I'm arriving AMS around 7a and can't check in until 1 pm. Coming from GMT-5, so I will probably be spent. I can probably leave my bags at the guesthouse until 1pm, but any suggestions of what to do for 6 hours of early morning jet lagginess?

smoke some sativas, eat some chips (fries) and wander around the streets soaking up the atmosphere. :D

I was thinking of smoking a bit, but not having smoked for a while, wondering if it is a good idea to smoke before checking into the guesthouse. I'm sure I'll "play it by ear". Thanks for the suggestion on the sativa. Curious, are there any hashes made from sativa plants?

If you dont feel comfortable with smoking before the guesthouse maybe dont.

I will say however that arriving at your guesthouse stoned would probably not cause any problems or offence on the host's part, tis amsterdam afterall.

However if you are worried about how you will be affected after a long break from smoking what I would do would be have your smoke several hours before you have to check-in and arrange yourself so you can have a good long stroll about and a bite to eat and some time to "come down" slightly. After a bit of food and a nice walk you'll be perfectly relaxed and behaving like a "normal" person. For that matter make sure you have a good feed after your flight before you settle into a coffeeshop.

There are indeed sativa hashes available. There is at least one thread in the Cannabis Strains section i believe about sativa hashes. Use the search function if you cant find it. Although i think many hashes often have a more heady effect than weeds anyway. Ask the budtender for a heady or sativa hash and i'm sure they'll help. Anyday has a good hash selection and their tenders are always very friendly and helpful.

my suggestion would be to rent a bike and use the time exploring.
How much did you produce?

I was on like a 7 year break before I went. I smoked, got a little paranoid for about 10 minutes, then it was business as usual walking around high. You'll be fine. Smoke some nice sativa and walk around. You'll come down fine before meeting up.

Cool thanks for all the suggestions, I'm really interested to sample sativas and indicas and note the difference first hand. I was planning on dropping of the luggage at the guesthouse, but I am guessing they won't be open at 7am. What do people do with their luggage when arriving early morning?

Smart-assed reply:

What to do for six 'jet-lagged' hours?
- Read a book.
- Go to a couple of movies.
- Take a walk towards Rotterdam. After three hours, turn around.
- Find a park and take a nap.
- Visit the top 10 museums in the city.
- Find a coffee shop and chill out.
- Coffee shop crawl.
- Get laid.

"What do people do with their luggage when arriving early morning?"
- Leave them at the hotel. A smart traveler, like me for instance, will contact the hotel to make arrangements. Works every time, all things considered.
- Carry them around until they are able to put them in the hotel room.
- Secure them either at the airport or centraal station.
- Luggage, what luggage? Use a back-pack/ruck sack. Never a worry.

Choices, choices, choices.

Now that it's 10 days away, I am now realizing that it won't matter what time I get in, I'll be in Amsterdam...
