Post by Hotdog »

meant to post earlier but just letting people know that both Tesco and Asda (wll atleast in the midlands) are doing the the large, 75cl bottles of Leffe at £2 a pop at the moment, Know theres a lot of members that are fans of this brew!

Draught Leffe is a differant animal imo, I know the Nes have it, haven't a clue on price but I'm sure DC will let us know.

Another option would be to buy some bottles from Albert Heijn.

On my way back from Amsterdam (to Paris), I often have a stop in Belgium to buy some beers. Trappists' are awesome (Chimay, Westmalle, ...) as are the "Cuvée des Trolls" and the "Bière du Brigand"
Leffe is good too but in France you find it everywhere, at the same price as in Nederlands/Belgium

Staropramen is great! Ever tried Starobrno, think it's even better when on tap.

A bit off topic, is there a place in Dam that sells a good selection of dutch and belgian beer? I'm eager to find a case of Rodenbach Gran Cru, which is imo the best beer in the world.

De Bierkoning, Paleisstraat 125 is your best bet.

For beers in bars on tap and bottles:

hit t'Arendsnest (http://www.arendsnest.nl/english.php) or In de Wildemaan (http://www.indewildeman.nl/indexe.html) or the Old Nickle (http://www.channels.nl/11046b.html)

t'Arendsnest specializes in Dutch beer (Snab/Krum etc.), while you can find a good selection of belgians at the other 2.
