I remember Glen Michael's Cartoon Cavalcade (he had the "talking" lamp called Palladin and the dog called Rusty: real dog/didn't talk)

Used to be some cracking cartoons on that show. I mostly remember the old 1960's Spider-Man cartoons and another one called Birdman (who had a hawk for a friend and had to be exposed to sunlight at all times or he lost his power.)

No doubt that cartoons played a major part in my growing up. All the ones mentioned are classics. The later Spider-Man cartoons (Amazing Friends etc.) were also memorable.

Also liked the Star Trek cartoon that came out and used the voices of the characters from the original series (apart from Chekov)

Man, those WERE the days

Saw this clip, which seems to spoof programmes of days gone by with it's attitudes and views.

It's derivative, but it's still funny

Saw this topic a while ago and left it so I could think of some of my favourite kids shows...didn't get very far I admit but I was also a big fan of cartoons which someone mentioned and some of my favourites as a kid were:

Thundercats (jim and sonja mentioned)
Pink Panther
Trap Door
Raggy Dolls
Count Duckula

I love watching some classic comedies still though, many come from my Dads taste in tv as they were before my time (or time of humor at least) including:

Young Ones (DC mentioned - some Comic Strip was good but I don't like all of them, the Bad News on Tour 1&2 were simply awesome though!!!)
The Munsters
Steptoe & Son
Laurel & Hardy (a proper classic, but Stan Laurel is a genius!)

my mind has gone dead again, maybe I will add some more later!

Sorry for going off topic, but out of curiosity, do you guys get chapelle's show in the UK? Even broader, is there Comedy Central in the UK?

(by the way, here's the same clip on youtube... I just like youtube better than putfile and I thought some of you might as well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqaphNoQPGs )

Not sure about the Dave Chappelle show but we certainly don't get Comedy Central here in the UK.

South Park is the only Comedy Central show I know of that is available in the UK.

Speaking of comedy, and following on from what from Valo said, comedy has formed the basis of all the best British shows of years gone by (IMHO).

Man, that's really rough. Comedy Central is pretty much the only station we get that I find almost always enjoyable.

Excluding of course CNN and the weather channel. Those always rock.

"Spitting image" The best way to end the weekend on a Sunday evening.

I don't think it ever went outside the UK and I've never seen re-runs. Not quite sure if it would work outside the UK :?

There was a programme on last night about Spitting Image. Was great to see clips of all the old puppets (my personal favourite was Pope John Paul II just for the way he was portrayed on the show compared to the way he actually was in public)

Brilliant

My favourite part on Spitting Image was Lord Lucan popping up at some stage in most episodes.

Ok, strange question that people always look at me in a strange way when i ask!

Does anyone remember a TV Show that was set in a little kids room, when he left the toys came to life (NOT TOY STORY) There was a girl accordian that was blue and yellow, an angry red monster truck, a weird green hot water bottle and some other things i can't remember.. I'm sure this exsisted, but i can't remember what it was called!
