ummmmm something non weed related... hmmmm....... ummmmmmmmmm,
oh yes i know! take a boat tour around the canals (you will see many tour operators whislt walking around, or your hotel will help), weather permitting it can be a genuinly great experience... but its best done whilist high as a kite, so not entirely non weed related.
also, spend an afternoon/evening in café gollem (in de pijp area), and work your way along the taps (or bottles if you prefer). gollem has over 200 types of belgian beer on offer and does an amazing, dutch cheese platter with olives etc. the decor is a traditional dutch 'brown bar'... a perfect, perfect afternoon, if you love beers... and as if this wasnt good enough, its stumbling distance to Katsu coffeeshop, should you feel the urge to end the evening with a bit of spinning out and throwing up.

BIKES.
Renting bikes and cruising the non busy outer canals is so much fun, it really is a must.
Ya, the Van Gough is amazing, buy your tic. online before hand and avoid any line ups.
Silly to skip Anne Franks house, it really is very moving, something that you will remember for a very long while and no way would i smoke for that.

The impressiong I got is that sitting at a cafe for awhile and staring at a cup of tea for about a half hour thinking about man's inhumanity to man was in order. Then after that oozing to one of the local coffeeshops to remind yourself why humanity isn't THAT terrible.Iko wrote:BIKES.

Or so I'm told.
Did you think you'd get rid of me that easily?
Ya pretty much.
We were there when it opened i think 9am, did the tour slowly, took it all in.
We then hit a few of the churches in the area.
Went by the cat rescue place, its a houseboat near by, then off to lunch.
Was one of those days i dont think we even thought about smoke until 2-3pm.
It was a pretty heavy morning, atleast for us, everyone will feel differently.

You have been posted on the November Whos In Town page.
You can see who else may be in town during your stay.
Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Or post one of your own. All I need is a date, time, and coffeeshop to post it.
By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.
First timers get my S G Collins recommendation
I think a read of this will maximize your efficiency once you get there.
How not to get hit by a bike and other stuff they forgot to tell you about Amsterdam.
You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
