Well I did wonder how the Gov. would get round the obvious discrimination thing. And 400 BIG ones in taxes.
No brainer

Sounds a sound reaction all round - !

You can't challenge the discrimination under EU law as it's still techinally illegal to buy cannabis, it isn't subject to EU law. If it was legal, it would be a different story

yea, but since the shops are acting under legal law, they cant ignore the EU law.....in the end it would be up to the individual judge to decide that as it isnt 100% clear in my opinion

No there was a test case recently about it. EU law doesnt apply due to the legal status of cannabis.

Coffeeshop membership? It hasnt yet and that means it doesnt have to happen. Can Dutch political opinion not be turned away from intolerance.Who wants an increase in street dealing, the rip offs, disturbances and breach of the peace, arguments and assaults?Surely not the police and the civil authorities.
And the native smokers-fortunate or unfortunate?-membershp details on a database! The conservative attitude amongst right wing elements seems to be-cannabis smokers-theyre not like us, if only they werent around, our little world would be so much better without them.Introduce drug testing gradually, for certain occupations.Well, whats the point of the database,if we dont make more use of it?We know who they are and we know where they live. So,to stop this,DONT DO NOTHING!

Regardless of illegality of Cannabis, allowing residents only and not allowing non-residents (who are part of the EU) is still not permitted surely.
If I applied for a job in Holland the reason for someone getting the job over me couldn't be due to him/her having residency.
With that logic I hope the EU consider it the same thing illegal or not, they cannot and should not have a law which discriminates against non-citizens to those who are of EU states...
