I have been popping in and out of ACD life for a couple of years now and I have always loved the friendly vibe here. I have been part of a private forum for a number of years and I have always been amazed at how friendly and laid back an open forum could be, compared with our 'closed shop'. I always thought that one of our strengths as a closed forum was our members and how carefully they could be picked to complement and fit in with the vibe we wanted to achieve. Yet ACD really turned this on its head for me. A truly open forum where you could post without fear of been called a cu*t and jumped all over. A forum where you could even ask a really stupid question and a long term member or mod might skillfully (tongue in cheek sometimes) direct you to the obvious answer.
I have recently moved to this Meca of a country (at long long last) so have not been on the forum for a good few months, but what a difference a few months makes!
What is going on? Is it part of the ethos of this board that ANY type of chat is allowed? Is there any reasons why a member would be banned or threads deleted? Or is it free speech all the way?
I ask because since logging on recently, the atmosphere of this forum is pretty raw, it has changed and going further down the drain every time I look at certain threads...
I have not started this thread to cause anymore arguing. I have started this thread because I truly don't want to see this excellent resource and fantastic friendly forum go the same way as the Channels.
I think we should leave the kids over there to it and we should keep this place for the 'grown ups' (I use the term loosely!)...
Anyone help me out with whats going on? Has it really changed, or is it just me?

I guess that there are not too many people that enjoy or know much about fishing on this forum.
There is another thread going that is displaying 12 pages of members rising to the offered bait.
In fishing, if you try a couple of different lures, a worm or a fly and nothing bites, you move on to another spot.
Try to ignore the maggots/faggots with their fishing lures and they will more than likely go away.

Totally agree Trad, but there is also a mean bullying edge to them that will hunt out some one particularly vulnerable and goad them to melt down.
We wont let these things diminish this website because these trolls will come and go they're just the neighborhood (internet) shit heads.
Just check them out and have a laugh.
I checked out channels because people go on about it, well it's another place for sure, but a lot of sound posters on there who are respected members of ACD as well so I dont dish it. Maybe they handle the cavemen better
