Isolation tanks

Has anyone ever tried that? Supposedly by getting inside one of those you can have a psychedelic experience without having taken any drugs.

You get inside a tank filled with heavily salted water, so you float and you feel like your body has no weight, and the water is heated to the same temperature as your body so basically you don't feel, hear or see anything. And that sensory deprivation should trigger a very introspective psychedelic experience. It's like unlocking a hidden part of your brain.

I had to, briefly, during my internship at a mental hospital. It's not for the faint at heart and came be somewhat overwhelming. My biggest fear is that it may have someone turn into themselves too much and cause a psychotic episode.

Peace,

So it wasn't a positive experience for you. I've seen videos like this one, he makes it sound like something that helps your personal growth:

I was only inside for maybe 5 minutes, just long enough to clear my head and start to focus. You have to be carefully monitored, prolonged exposure can be detrimental to your psychological health. And I am almost certain Joe Rogan was high when he went in

Balou, did they make you get inside the tank? What was the purpose of that?

It doesn't seem that dangerous to me because you only get in contact with what's already inside your head, at least theoretically.

And of course I always assume Joe is high. Even for the UFC broadcasts he looks high

I tried a flotation tank after reading The Scientist by John C Lilly but didnt have any out of body experience. It wasnt actually very relaxing because my ears were full of water which felt uncomfortable, also my body was moving about in the tank and bumping into the sides.
For a real out of body experience i recomend Ketamine  .
