I have installed phpBB3 as an upgrade to the present phpBB2.
We have purchased a domain especially for the forum.

At the moment its only temp, it'll be up and down until we migrate all the data across.

Please don't register at the above site, it'll only get deleted!

Don't worry Lem the style can be changed

Hi Twichaldinho,

I think we can load up lots of styles and the end user can select the way he wants to view the forum, It will be up to lemming if this feature is enabled.

I'm not 100% sure cos i just install the software. Haven't got a clue how to run it.

If you're interested, you can see a preview of the forum in phpBB3. Please don't post anything on there - it's only temporary and will be deleted later.

If you click on User Control Panel and then Board Preferences you can change the style.

Subsilver2 is closest to the subSilver of the current forum
Prosilver is a more modern style
Christmas is a novelty one

Slimline can probably upload a few to choose from.

I dont belive this, iv been off line the last while because of being stupid busy with work and college, but if i had of known you were looking for parts id have donated them. i cleared the shed the other day and got rid of 4 servers iv built, a little outdated for what i need but would have been plenty for this site.
i like the look of the new site, very VBulliten like.

if you need any help just shout and il do what i can, money is out of the question at the mo im afraid :(

Hiya all,

Just to bring you upto date on the server.

With the Supermicro M/B I was hoping the on board raid would be of use to us, alas it only works on windoze, not my choice for server O/S. After spending sometime examining "software raid" I've come to the conclusion it will be better to use one hard drive with a second in the spare tray configured with an O/S. This I'm afraid has put pack the install date for the server till after the Chrimbo Hols.

The new forum software PhpBB3 has been tested and seems to work well.
I believe Lemming is working on some software to convert the internal links. Once Lem and I are happy we can do the conversion the whole operation will take about two hours.

"Sorry, the website lem.localinet.co.uk cannot be found"

Why do I get this message when I come through the map and try to look at the Forum without logging on? However, if I go through one of the coffeeshops on the map I can pull the forum and log on or just view the threads.
