Place to Eat Lunch & Dinner ?

Post by Rez »

Whilst planning which few CS's to visiton my upcoming 1 night visit I am trying to fit in a lunch break and a dinner break... just basic food intake is all thats required

I'm Staying at th Rho and after a couple of hours in Nes Cafe (1pm - 3pm) I intend to head over to check out Tweede Kamer, have a smoke and a drink then head for Kadinsky, again a smoke and a drink... then Abraxas... maybe a smoke, definately a drink... Now I have no idea on how long these thre CS's will take to get round and enjoy... but I need to fit in a late lunch bite when heading from Nes to Tweede... any suggestions of an enroute place. Grab and eat whilst walking is good.

I also need to find a dinner place for a feed before a hike around the RLD for some window shopping  then it's back to Nes to smoke myself into a blob of useless flesh 8) well, just leaving myself with the strength to get into my bed at The Rho.

I want to waste as little time as poss so if anybody has any ideas could you let me know...

I like to eat cheap in Amsterdam and have twice visited an Italian type of restaurant (I think it was Italian, but it definately specialised in pasta and pizza anyway). I remember getting a couple of euros back from a €10 after having a lasagne type meal with a drink as well - so the value for money was real good. I went on my first two trip to Amsterdam, but still see they are in business and have cheap prices labelled outside.

It is located on Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal - on the opposite side of the original Grasshopper coffeeshop and a bit further up the road (walking towards centraal station). Also a pretty good location close to the Singel RLD (which makes it no further than 5-10mins) from the main red light streets :D

Failing that......go to Wok to Walk :!:

Although I doubt these really do yourself any good (as they taste stale as shit) I regulary buy one for a couple of euros on my way back to the hotel at nighttime - there must be nicer sweets in these shops by something about those waffels which makes you think you are in Amsterdam.

I do find it funny in those open food shops (especially around the RLD) when you buy a slice of pizza from one in the shop window - and then noticing the same slice is still missing from the same pizza 4 days later :D Still like I said when in Rome....

this is a good post. I will be budgeting muself to around 70 euros a day..which includes EVERYTHING. Weed, hash, food(although i can kill two birds with one stone if i get hash foods), drinks, etc. Will probably be eating at alot of cheap italian places or delis..maybe evens treet vendors..buying chips(with tomato sauce..no mayo).

^ i just have this weird hatred for mayonaise. I have always despised it for some reason. Maybe I had some traumatic childhood event that centred around mayo...haha.
