That's a snidey tactic like but they are still by far the cheapest up here

They've changed it this week, no fee for using your debit card (I think it's about £9 for a cc) but they've introduced a £9 admin fee on all bookings (I think it's £9 per transaction so if you book 2 flights it's £9 not 2x), it pisses me off but they're still pretty cheap if you book far enough in advance, BMI come in about the same price, I'd rather go on the back of a donkey than fly with Ryanair again. ;)

I wonder if the new admin fee has to do with the new carbon tax? I know all the US carriers have added on $3 fee for each flight going TATL.

Another thing the folks in the UK don't have to pay is fuel surcharges. On my last trip $400 of my ticket was fuel surcharges!

No, the cheap airlines have been told to buck their ideas up because they've been taking the piss with the costs to book using debit and credit cards, there isn't a fee when paying with a debit card (which I think was £8) so instead they've now stuck this £9 admin fee to every transaction, they've even said this wont be under the new legislation, all the surcharges and such are built into the price of the flight.

I usually pay just about £100 from Heathrow with either KLM or BA. Was that price November and again in early March plus lots of flight time options.

I see that Rail Europe is £79 return currently, change at Brussels for the Thalys, about 5hrs total I think. When you add in check in /out it's comparable time wise, particularly for those who can get to St Pancras easily.

My bad abc on 2 counts a) the website is Eurostar.com , follow the special deals link on the front page and b) The fare is now £99. It was originally £79 when I looked for early March - I am in A'dam from 7th to 11th March.

There was a discussion about this in Trip Advisor too, type in £79 train london to a'dam on their site and it should bring the thread up, I can't do the linky.

Even at £99 it's not a bad deal for anyone in N London ish, no long check in, no baggage restrictions, arrive at Centraal.

I didn't intend to mislead

Airfare down to $800 this year!

$100= less than last year and the euros down a lil against the dollar so less than last year for once.

I wonder if Scotland/England are different ? As I booked a flight with Easyjet last night , never paid an administration fee , but I did pay the £8 for using my debit card !!

Return flights from Edinburgh to Schipol: £46
Hotel Quentin Arrive: €38 each (4 bed)

So say about £100 when you include petrol, car park, Schipol to Centraal etc.

Pretty fucking cheap!
