Do any coffee shops have the thc % on show like they do in California dispensaries. Would really like to try some 20% plus

if they had, i wouldn't rely on it. quality seems to vary a lot, even in the better shops that i have found in dam.

if you want to smoke something with high thc, i would recommend butter from voyagers cs. not as good and punchy as budmails/e*****'s budder, but quite allright.

actually dont expect the greatest weed that you will ever see in amsterdam.
i live here and i have a hard time finding something that is better than the stuff that i got from my dealer in germany. i would recommend to stick to the 8-11€ price segment of buds, as they are usually not worse than the 12€+ stuff. above 12€+ it is likely to be a tourist rip-off.

If anywhere advertises the thc content it would be Greenhouse but to be honest I'd take the actual figures with a pinch of salt no matter who says it, be it Amsterdam coffeeshops, seed companies or Cali dispensaries.

Amsterdam is like wine tasting in Bordeaux. Its about the selection and taste more than the strength. The best weed i ever smoked was a very heavy indica from Birmingham but the best tasting weeds are certainly from Amsterdam!

i think that the absolute majority of weed here (ams) is not treated correctly after harvesting, which leads to deficits in taste and smoke quality.
so i'd assume that the stuff here is rather powerfull than tasty.

selection, imo, does not really matter, when 90% of bud is below the standards of a long time weed smoker with decent connections. really sad, that the dutch government is going full retard against the coffeeshop suppliers.

btw, last week the dude at hunters told me that there would be a new batch of SSH coming in in the next 14 days. this was by far the most potent weed that i have smoked here, so i would recommend you to try this, if you are looking for high grade bud.

There is so much variety in NL though that I think there is a taste to suit everyone, its not always about just 'how fucked' you get from it. In fact my personal favourite weed when visiting Amsterdam is BioGreen from Paradox. Not what some people would consider knock your socks off strong but its very nice tasting and as my favourite time of the day to smoke is morning I don't want to be too done in.

It's personal preference, I don't care about knowing the THC content. I don't really want to know. I just want to try as many strains as possible from all my favourite CS's an I'll make my judgements at the end of the trip.

LOL Black widow OG#18 kushdee acapulco gold mango haze nevilles haze all top buds n due to flowering times and lower than normal yield are more expensive

N tbh not greatest person to take advice from as couldnt distinguish betweed poorly flushed and sprayed weed.

all the buds you mentioned aren't THAT great either (taking the potential of the strain in consideration), and they are also all around the 13€/g mark if i remember correctly (only smoked NH from hunters (17€/g) and it was not worth the price at all, also bought katsus BW and OG a couple of times in the past months, good but not GREAT).

i accept, that a dealer will charge extra for long flowering times, but what i am actually saying is that, this extra is usually not worth paying, because there is not much gain to be had. so if you are not after literally just smoking some "big names", you might find the better tasting and punching weed in the non-stupid-tourist section of the menu.

please excuse me for trying to supply some first hand information, i am in amsterdam once or twice a week, and i am not proud of it, but i managed to sample roughly 80-110 strains from in and around amsterdam in the past months.
assuming you are a tourist, i am sure that you have much more valuable information regarding amsterdams current strains.

also, since when does everybody who smokes mj have to be an expert grower?

They don't but it's cool to be informed, for me it's a hobby and i find the science of growing very interesting but as a smoker i don't want to get too hung up on thc content and flowering times that it dampens my enjoyment of trying the many strains on offer.

Everybody's got their faves after all, and if you get into a debate with someone about whether a strain is good or bad, hardly will it ever come down to discussing growing...
