You can get them from a Haberdashers/dress making shop that sells sequins, beads etc.

Don't judge me on how I know this :D

I think the Pax is pretty awesome. Its not perfect, but its definitely one of the best portable vaporizers on the market (probably not for long, there are some new portables coming out soon that look really amazing)

I never had problems with burning the bud. I think this is also connected to the draw speed, same as the MFLB - if you inhale too slowly, or not enough, the heat builds up inside the bowl and toasts the bud.

Good question... they are different tools, so I couldn't really say which is "better", that depends on the situation and the users needs. The Pax is more user-friendly, its easier to get good vapor with less mucking around. The MFLB has a bit more learning curve, there is more technique needed to using it. So the Pax is better if you want to share with noobs, as it just "works" without needing any special technique. I don't recommend the MFLB to people with short attention spans as it does need a little practice - but once you understand the technique, the MFLB packs a lot of power!

The MLFB is smaller and faster-working than the Pax. You can pull the MLFB out of your pocket, take a hit and have it hidden back in your pocket within 5-10 seconds. Heat-up time is just a few seconds. With the Pax you have to switch it on and then wait a minute or two until the indicator light tells you its hot. The MLFB is small enough to conceal inside a closed hand, the Pax not really. So the MLFB is slightly more stealthy than the Pax. On the other hand, the MFLB has a window with the weed clearly visible, whereas the Pax is just a featureless tube which doesn't look like anything. So its possible the Pax would get less attention in public.

The Pax has a built in, non replaceable battery. So when the battery goes flat, thats it. The MFLB uses normal rechargable AA's so your power supply is virtually unlimited. Say you're planning a big outdoor session with friends, you can bring along spare batteries and keep vaping all day, something you can't do with the Pax.

The MLFB is around 1/2 the price of the Pax.

If someone offered to give me either a MLFB or a Pax, I would take the Pax. But I'd still want a MFLB in my collection, as the Pax isn't ideal for all situations.

Thanks for the review mate. I was thinking of getting the pax, but after seeing the price of it I thought that I'd be better off getting the Ariser extreme Q as I already have the MFLB which is portable, like the pax.

That leads me onto my next question. I think I need to play with it more to get it to work better to feel a stronger hit. I was wondering if it was the batteries im using. the model that I bought seems to have a faulty charger so using another one by enigizer, just a cheap one which does charge them but they run out quickly. Did you buy any new batteries for it or recommend a new set with a charger.

And finally, have you got a tips for getting a big hit from it. I haven' t been able to get it properly working where I feel really high compared to smoking more, I feel it but its much weaker. So yeh any advice would be great and I appreciate the detailed response above with regards the Pax.

Yeah, if you already have a MFLB, you are much better off getting a plug-in home unit for your second vape. I find portable vapes too much hassle to use at home... why interrupt the session to recharge the battery when theres a power outlet right there? Better to have something you can plug in and forget about. Home vaporizers deliver serious heat "on tap", totally different story to the portables which always need practice to get the most out of them. Arizer Extreme Q is a good choice, it can fill bags or do direct draw. Its half the price of a Volcano and around half the size, yet has far more features.

Rechargeable batteries have a limited lifespan, so you need to replace the batteries every so often. After 6-12 months of use, the power and capacity of the battery is noticeably decreased. The result is that MFLB won't get as hot as it used to, and won't give strong hits. The orange light inside will be dimmer than usual, thats how you know the battery is on its way out.

Pick up some fresh batteries and your box will be as good as new. If possible, get 2800mah batteries, they are more powerful than the standard ones. This means the box will heat up quicker and get hotter overall (so you do need to be extra careful not to burn the weed)

On to the technique - its all about the draw speed. You have to inhale slowly, but not too slowly, otherwise you can easily combust the weed. When you get it right, you'll feel that tickle on the back of your throat as you're inhaling. Some people use a slow, continuous draw. Others like to use the 'sipping' technique, which is taking a small inhale, stop, small, inhale, stop, and so on. This is done quickly, like 2 seconds inhale, 2 seconds stop. It gives the box time to heat up again inbetween each inhale, so you end up with thicker vapor.

I recommend watching the official tutorial videos, there is a lot more useful tips there:

Of course I would never smoke outside Amsterdam, isn't that right Uncle Sam. However a good friend has informed me that the MFLB is an absolute game changer. Stealth, both visual and lack of odor/smoke, size and convenience, enjoyment of taste/vapor, biggest bang for your buck because it really stretches out your supply and you need about half as much to get hammered, as well as extremely easy cleanup (no gunked up or dirty glass or ashtrays) are some of the reasons to highly recommend this tiny gem. Oh yeah, it will absolutely save your throat and lungs from all that smoke, also - a HUGE plus! No more smokers cough, my friend tells me. The only issues, and they aren't that big of a deal, are the learning curve and the batteries. The learning curve isn't like a year or something, it's more like a week or two and there are excellent videos on youtube that demonstrate the draw technique to expedite the learning process. It's not exactly rocket science. The unit works best when the batteries are fully charged and my friend tells me he always has 2 batteries fully charged. Heck, it seems worth buying 2 extra batteries to ensure that you will always have 2 ready to go, although it's not that difficult to keep 2 always ready when you're not smoking. If you're vaping, use the batteries, if not, have them plugged in and charging. Pretty simple...or so I've been told.

Thanks Bleak for the detailed reply. The videos have definitely helped mate. Think I will go with the larger vape instead of the pax and from reviews and price ill probably get the ariser extreme Q. Looks the business.

Thanks for the help

Canon 5D mk1's can be found for about 500 euros (second hand, the 5D mk1 was discontinued years ago, oldschool!!). Add another 300 euros for a used 50mm f1.4 lens. Kenko macro adapter rings, about 100 euros on ebay. I bought most of my gear used, and its been very good to me.

So you can have my basic camera setup for under 1000 euros. Not that much for a pro-level camera! You could also get comparable results with a Canon 500D and a 50mm 1.8 lens, for probably 700 euros total.

It's a pleasure to see pro pictures over here. 8) You capture great moments.

I recently got a Canon 7D and I'll make sure to bring it with me the next time I'm in Amsterdam, but I've got 50mm and 70-300mm lenses that aren't going to cut it all. Suppose I need to shop around.

Get an extension tube for the 50mm and you'll have a great macro lens for bud shots.
