If you could only visit 3 coffeeshops ever again...

Post by westerkerk »

...what would they be? why? and what would you buy?

For me...

Paradox
Had some great times in here over the years, very friendly staff, great little smoke menu, good food and drink. I'd get a nice couple of grams of BioGreen or NY Chiesel, a Banana milkshake and a veggie burger and spend a couple of hours reading. Bliss.

Stix (Korte Koningsstraat)
Love it in here, area is really nice. Had some of my best smokes here, never had a bad deal in many years. Lovely people too, always a bit eclectic/eccentric, always very helpful. I'd be having a gram of White Chocolate and a cappuccino to kick start the day!

Het Ballontje
Love the 'feel' of this place because it's not in the main centrum and never gets too crowded. A nice lemon tea with some White Balloon would go down a treat!

Honourable mentions go to Bluebird, Kashmir Lounge, Greenhouse Tolstraat, La Tertulia, and De Graal.

Bit of fun amongst a mountain of gloom eh? :)

Resin - First shop I ever visited back when it was the Pool Dog
Basjoe - James is one of the best budtenders in the country
Greenplace - Consistently has some of the best smoke in town

Peace,
Balou

Katsu - my love
GreyArea - my second love

as I can't choose between Dampring1, Abraxas, Barney's, Kadinski, MellowYellow and Rookerij4 I'll go to Katsu again for the very last time.

I'd agree with these and I'd probably put Basjoes in there as number 3 simply because of James.

Papillon.
The best Hashish selection that I've found in Amsterdam, at fair prices too. The ganja has also been consistent. The discounts on 2 and 5 grams offer great value. The place is comfy as hell, and very welcoming. Drinks won't dent yer wallet either. Far enough away from the Action to be considered 'quiet and peaceful.

Katsu.
Again, consistent quality, vast selection, pretty good specials. Friendly Tenders, who work with a smile. They know about all the products they carry, and are always happy to answer my questions. Great music all the times I've been in....Verdampers too :D

Paradox/Basjoe......I know, I am cheating, but I love em both equally......Friendly tenders, quiet and picturesque settings.......Paradox does munchies too..

Almost everybody saying Basjoe, must admit I've only been once with a large group of friends on a cold rainy night in 2006, and the owner was lovely but never felt the need to go back since. No idea why. Maybe it's just because I don't ever 'pass' it. Big mistake I think.

I'm defo going to go on my January trip and make up for lost time I think

Basjoe - always good weed and always a good place to watch the world slip by

Grey Area - quality weed, but shit for sitting, I always go back but be nice if it was bigger

Dampkring II : beginning the day here, with a fat spliff of theur G13/Amnesia, a ham and cheese toastie and a hot chocolate.

Paradox : turkish hash, Cheese, Chocolope,... + a toastie again, those things are delicious

De Graal : perfect for sitting long hours, in a comfortable armchair, while smoking white gold
