Thanks Trad, it just ain't the same without everyone here at ACD!
A quick look back through pictures:
SUNDAY, ARRIVAL DAY...

It's cold...hovering around freezing but the humidity actually makes it feel warmer because we're blessed with no wind and periodically sunny skies. VERY periodic, but when it shines it shines bright!
HILL STREET BLUES ON THE MARKET
First stop since Basjoe's and Baghera were both still closed when I ventured out for the all-important first smoke of the trip (unfortunately, for the 2nd time in a row I was stag!).

LOOKING BACK ON THE HIMALAYA GOLD...
I have to say, outside the iceo's the the butters, this has to be THE most unique hasj in the damn. It's a black hasj masquerading as a Moroc. From what I can tell it's made Rif style with sieving and pressing but with the North Indian / Nepalese style bud (more Indian, I'd say, the spice gives it away!) so that it breaks up like a good Moroccan hasj, even smells off the light like one too. But soon the taste and bake give it away revealing its true nature!
Why no repeat purchases? Well, we did start off with over 2 grams to start but its uniqueness also lends itself to an almost novelty hasj - I mean HIGH quality novelty but once I started to taste the true Moroc's and Nepalese I was reluctant to return during a week long stay. If we lived over in the 'dam, it would most likely be a couple of grams every couple of weeks or so...

I'd rate it

Just to say that last week end I bought this Himalayan hash after reading your TR, and I didn't regret it, a really good hash, with a crazy flavour and a great head high/body buzz ratio

Dude.. Totally, its like taking a big group of friends that are completely into what your doing along for the ride!
Not like some of my whining friends at home...'what you going to Amsterdam again for?' they dont have a clue!

...as always, thanks for the encouragement!
Since darkness falls quite early in the 'dam these days it's already twilight by early afternoon while I retrieve bud for the wife at Basjoe's just down the street:
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1077.jpg
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1078.jpg
I asked about the special but was directed to the OG kush at a pricey 15 e/g:
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1087.jpg
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1088.jpg
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1089.jpg
I know it's sacrilege but, I have to say, I'm not all that impressed with Basjoe's. I mean it's a cool shop but it's super, SUPER pricey.. the coffee sucks... they don't carry pear looza... and the bud, while tasty and stoney, REALLY should have left me disabled at 15 euro per gram. I mean I was working on no sleep, little food and had only smoked the Himalaya gold all day. Besides, James wasn't in the best mood either of the times I stopped in and I wound up liking Bagheera all the more.
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1091.jpg
And their silver haze at 12 e/g...
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1095.jpg
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1094.jpg
I guess I'm a sucker for the gaudier, Bob Marley portrait painted on the wall kinda place; a bit more upbeat then the dark/black furniture minimalist furnishings of Basjoe's. But, to each their own!

Great to see the pix to go along with your words, on a smoking trip
to Amsterdam any plans always seem to go up in smoke for me.
So to keep a live trip report going while you were there is a great effort.
Can't wait to find out what your favourite hashes of the trip were?

Hey Gapie, it's all good...trust me, we're ALL in a mental institution - it's called Amsterdam! You're just lucky enough to reside full-time...
Hey Smokesy...the Lebanese WAS a great wake and bake but I would probably recommend the Nepal Ice from Katsu (or another nice, clean Nepal); makes for a pure, clean, bright high that's like no other!
First night, the wife is still under the weather but I'm in the need for some solid; sooooo I take a stroll around the corner to the infamous, hasj haven:
Rusland
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1097.jpg
Too bad the vibe sucked, 'cause it's such a historic shop in a historic, holiday decorated canal house. The hasj was inCREDible...too bad the pictures aren't!
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1101.jpg
I remember sitting in Bagheera; the owner was sitting with the counter girl (a sweet, college age girl who was prone to giggling) and chastising her about SOMETHING. It was either the numbers weren't adding up or he was testing her on her Dutch language skills. I know, two completely different things but I remember getting baked trying to decipher the conversation! Ahh, mundane coffeeshop stoner memories!
Day two, after a first stop at Hill Street BREWS for that all important first cup of coffee, it's off to GreenPlace for our first of what would be MANY visits to the bud mecca of Amsterdam.
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1103.jpg
Funny, NEVER stayed for a coffee or drink...EVER! Always a grab and go. Not sure why, old habits of running next door to Hill Street die hard and the place is ALWAYS busy. It just seems to lend itself to a fly and high situation for some reason! So we pick up the recommended Purple Kush for the apartment; passing icy canals back to the apartment:
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1106.jpg
Christ, the purple kush...it was SICK!
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1107.jpg
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1108.jpg
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1109.jpg
And the twizzler?
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1112.jpg
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff26 ... CN1113.jpg
Perhaps the freshest Moroc we encounter on our trip, maple sugar candy in both appearance and texture and taste to match. From what I can gather note wise and from memory, only the high wasn't fantastic. I mean, it was really good but it wouldn't make number one. Damn close, I tell ya; damn close...

awesome write up and pics dude. A+ shizzit fo sho. Sorry to hear about your ol lady though. I know how it is for sure. We are in Roma right now and the first two nights my ol lady was puking her guts out. It's like delayed motion sickness or something, happens every time we travel. Thank goodness the next stop is Dam, cuz weed is ever the only cure. I see you are American, as am I, so you should see a doc and get some dissolvable finnergen for emergencies like this. It works wonders but we failed to bring it with us this time. enough about vomit though. your logue was dope, I thoroughly enjoyed it! cheers!

Thanks for that. Im definitely going to keep an eye open for the nepal...looking at a few of the menu's it seems like a fairly cheap hash.
