The version of the phpBB software that we were using was getting very dated and was no longer supported. We could have just moved to the latest version of phpBB2 but, while we were at it, it made sense to make the jump to phpBB3 because it has better anti-spambot capabilities.
This version has many new features for users, moderators and Lemmings. There are friends and foes, PM icons, more colours and the possibility of alternative styles if we get some set up in the future. Check out the User Control Panel (top right) to see all of the settings you can play with. The admin control panel has loads of settings for me to find my way around.
If you run a forum yourself and have any advice, please post here. I haven't found a setting to make links open in a new tab or window, for instance.
In addition to upgrading the software, we've also moved to a new domain. The forum is now available directly from coffeeshopdirect.com/forum (www.coffeeshopdirect.com still takes you to the main site). Not only is this a nicer name, it frees up Slimline's localinet.co.uk from its developing cannabis association
I've put some redirection programs on the old addresses so old links still work but it would be worth updating any favourites you might have set up.

. Everything should be reasonably stable now. We've brought over as many avatars as possible. If you set up new ones now they should stay put.
