Save the coffeeshop culture, the power of social networking.

My sweetheart is working full time in Amsterdam to save our coffeeshop culture. She has filed a descrimination suite with the authorities and is waiting to see how it is handled. She has been interviewed by numerous media outlets and tells a great story about the Dutch coffeeshop culture, where it's been, where it's at and where it may go. Be part of a revolution and join in. If everyone sends a letter to the PM they must take notice.

Why is this not the busiest thread on this forum? I ask seriously. Will ACD become a forum that only talks about "the good old days"? Or will you all take action and help save the coffeeshop culture? This is really happening.

I'm on my way to the post office now with my letter. Everyone here who doesn't do the same should be embarrassed. If you can afford the time and expense to vacation in Amsterdam, you can afford the 5 minutes it takes to put a letter together and the pocket change it will cost to mail.
Seriously. PUT DOWN THE BONG. WRITE A LETTER.

I think this thread should be moved to the main coffeeshop section. It will get more views that way. I don't always read the threads in this section (because sometimes there is as much positive propaganda here as negative propaganda in other places) but this is too important to miss.

Sending emails is a waste. They know it's possible to send mass emails without doing any real work. With a single button press, thousands of emails can be sent. What good is that?
Sending a letter is REAL. They know if people are willing to take the time and effort (even though it's just a little time and a little effort) it might make a difference.
When has an "internet petition" or email campaign ever really worked and caused a change? It doesn't! STOP BEING LAZY! Just copy and paste the suggested letter on the facebook page, print it out, sign it, and mail it.
