Special small pool tables in the coffeeshops?

Post by dannzomatic »

Hello dear Forum!

My name is Daniel and i am from Germany and i wanted to ask a question,
which I would be glad if somebody could answer it to me.

Some years ago my brother (42) spent some happy hours in a Coffee-Shop like the
"mellow yellow" in Amsterdam. He has told me that he has played billards, on
a special pool table, which was smaller than a normal pool table. I myself
have never seen such a small pool table, but in the course of my research I
have come to the conclusion that it must have been a pool table, which had a
size of about four or five feet. According to my brother, they use tables like this in the Netherlands because of the small size of the houses.
Now my brother wants for his birthday such a pool table. My brother is
some sort of stubborn and because of that he wants exactly such a pool
table, like he has seen in this Coffeeshop.

These are the conditions for my "mission":
1. He told me that the pool table was smaller like a normal one (with a
total length about four or five feet) and
2. that the pool table is of heavy quality, not like those for children and
3. that the pool table was coin operated.

Now my question is this: Does someone know something about those special pool
tables like they use in the Netherlands? Could somebody possibly tell me which
dealer you could get such a table? I have already researched on the
Internet, but I found anything suitable.

Thank you for your effort.

Best wishes,

Daniel Schmidt

Normal being a 9/10 foot regulation table, both pool and billiards tables can be found in small 6 foot 'fun' versions.
