ApartmentPaul
Re: ApartmentPaul
I book with Paul because he's easy to deal with, and doesn't require various deposits or cleaning fees, at least for return customers. Just a deposit to hold your reservation. Perhaps folks from the UK don't get the discount because they just don't often stay long enough to get one.
His apt 'B' is not worth the money, especially in high season, but H1 is worth it to me. Nice place, great location, sweet terrace. Serviced by bus 197, transit from Schiphol is a breeze.

i jsut did check on that apartment they want 184euro for 2 people in march, thats alot more the apartment PaulMike93 wrote:Any one think apartment Paul is pretty overpriced. Obviously its great that you know that you will have a place to stay etc as many on here have stayed there before but prices seem quite steep for the look of the rooms. Ive been searching on airbnb and most of the apartments seem alot cheaper and all generally have reviews which are easily avaliable to see.
With these apartments, from looking online, which I understand doesn't tell the whole story are very expensive. For two people its about 120 a night, where as I've seen nice for just 75 or so.
For the same sort of price you could get something like this.

Re: ApartmentPaul
A very happy Apartment A customer here. Stayed here for two weeks a while back. Far roomier than the photos seem to show and just very spot on. Easy walk into town, maybe ten minutes or less to Haarlemerplein. Plenty of buses 24/7 and easy to get to from Centraal or Sloterdijk. Albert Heijn just down the road with an assortment of local shops including three coffeeshops near although I didn't fancy going to any of them. Wifi works lovely, telly in the bedroom as well as the front room. It cost me about £50 a night, and Paul is certainly very easy to deal with.

Re: ApartmentPaul
The current exchange rate is 1 GBP = 1.229 EUR.
The rate is £121 per night when I looked at the apartment 5 minutes ago.
That would be 148.70 Euro per night, slightly more than H1 at 130 Euro.
They are both nice and located in great locations.
I would rent either of them, no problem.
Matt, where did you see 184 Euro for 2 people?
I checked the calendar and the prices during 4/20 are £121/148 Euro "per night", meaning max occupancy (4 peeps).
Get close to Q-Day, the prices jump way up...

for 2 ,3 or 4 people excuse me
what ever it is its way more expensive then the H1 , also alot of place on that site say 2 bedrooms (sleeps 4) (example) 63 euro a night, but if you read the rules thats for per person x4 , i was lookng at a onebed room (sleeps 3 ) had to pay 85x3 to get the apartment, i may be talking out my ass, but thats what i seen
Re: ApartmentPaul
You are not talking out your ass Matty. I did a search the other day and it offered me a beautiful apartment for 75 Euro.Yep once you go to the next page or so it was X 4. Stupid way of advertising apartments. I chose two people initially.

Re: ApartmentPaul
I don't think Paul's is overly expensive....I booked his 'A' apartment for 13 nights in April (high season), two people for 1000euro...that's approx. 38.50euro pp/pn. About the same as Voyagers I believe and I have a whole apartment.
If I don't see you no more in this world, I'll meet you on the next one.

Paraphrasing Matt and hasj, gotta read the fijn print.
Whatever happened to simple pricing? One price per night; one price per week; one price, per month! Oh right, greed.
Set the max capacity and base the rate on that number. Wait for it.....................................................................................
...(in a whining tone) But what if one person wanted to rent the apartment, why should they have to pay the same amount as four people?
My reply - stay in a hotel.

Re: ApartmentPaul
I have stayed with Paul on 6 different occasions for more than 70 days total, I have stayed in Apt B and H1. By far H1 is the best it's in a modern building with an elevator. If you like staying outside of the main touristy are but within walking distance it is perfect.
Then theres the BALCONY!!

If you look you can see people skating in the canals!
You know what!? I just thought of this (we shoulda kept this place a secret!), you know what never mind this place is shyte you should never stay here EVER!!

Re: ApartmentPaul
My memories of the terrace have zero snow, and much more sun. Sitting on the bench in a t-shirt, smoking a bowl of hash, enjoying the North Holland sunshine. Trams rattling and chiming below, and my glass of Chocomel just inside.
Good times.
Yes, H1 is terribly inconvenient and expensive. No one should EVER stay here!!
