Jan Trip Report

Post by Tech303 »

The day before i started to come down with some type of virus, but was hoping the excitment and joy of being back in Amsterdam would pull me through the trip. Won't give many opinions on the trips smokes due to my sense of smell and taste being screwed by the virus. Even the Heinieken did not taste as good as normal, damn must of been feeling under the weather.

Day One

I am an early riser so booked the first flight from Heathrow Sun 9th Jan BA £99. Can get
there cheaper but as Heathrow is very close to me, i dont mind paying a little more for the
convienience.

Flight went smoothly and was stepping out of central station to a very cold but sunny Amsterdam Sunday morning at about 10.30am.

Have taken many trips here over the years, but still feel like a kid on Christmas morning on
the train ride from the Schiphol to CS.

Hotel was on Raadhuisstraat, still felt crap but had a real spring in my step as i headed to the room.

Room was not ready, so left my bag and was told to return in about an hour. Headed to HGF
for the first purchase of the trip.

Its still only about 11am, so there was only a couple of other customers. As i walked in i was greeted with a big friendly smile from the pretty Irish girl behind the counter, nice start to the trip.

Bought a g of cheese and also wanted to try some outdoor, the purple power looked very dry so went for the Durban Poison.

The first strain i tried to grow years ago was DP's Durban Poison, really did not know what i was doing but managed to get a little smokeable bud. I always thought the unusual odour, very aniseed type smell, was due to the way it had been badly grown. But no it was the exactly the same
as HGF's.

As i still had to do hotel check in, kept the cheese for later and started with the DP. Very mellow smoke, most probably not enough punch for most members here. But i enjoyed the different taste, and was surprised how sticky the bud was for outdoor.

Got the hotel stuff out of the way and headed to voyagers, got some lemon haze and enjoyed
watching the passing parade from one of the window seats.

I agree with other recent posts, if HB can update the interior and maybe add a couple of killer hashes to go along with excellent weed side of the menu. This coffee shop could be a real gem.

After that headed off to the RLD to find somewhere to watch the footie, settle on the Remember bar i think its called. Big smoking room at back.

Been in there before on other trips, but found the rock music way too loud for me and spoiled my
buzz. But was ok for watching the football.

After that headed to kadinsky and bought a g of nepal cream.

After purchase crossed over to their bar, got a beer and window seat. Was disappointed with the nepal, did not get that sudden rush and heavy heart beat i have got before with good nepals.

Next time will not be such a cheap charlie and pay more for the Himalayan.

Started feeling hungry so went to the KFC around the corner.

Things get a bit fussy after that, did my normal hopping between bar for a beer and then coffeeshop for a smoke. Seem to remember being in Players on Warmoestraat and Babas for others can't recall.

Managed to get through the first day, headed back to the hotel fairly early to try and get a good nights sleep and hopefully have more energy for tomorrow.

Thanks for the pics and report dude. looking forward to the next one. You choose very similar CS to me. The nepali creme in Bluebird can be good if you are still looking for a nice hash.

I tried clicking on the pics themselves afterI realised they were linked, signed up for a flickr accounts but the photos must be in your private gallery. I'm using the kadinsky shot anyway atm but would love one overlooking a canal at night-time.
