From UK originally but have lived overseas most of my adult life in various places. I don't really care about where people are from as it only encourages stereotypes (IMHO) anyway.

Borders are nothing more than lines in the map put there by the powerful to keep the rest of us at each others throats while they take all the cream.

I agree, which is why many have responded with their local origins more than their nationalities (although some with both). When asked in person, I usually tell them my city, or where I've lived. I too lived overseas for a good bit (Mexico, Guatemala, Japan for a total of 14 years) and wish I could go abroad once again for more than just short visits.
