Alaska Update

Post by Alaskan Biker »

Well the ACLU lawsuit actually paid off in one small way and overturned one part of the new law that was passed last month we have still lost a lot just not completely.

The current ruling of the moment by the court which of course is being challenged by the bad guys already is that possession in Alaska of UNDER one ounce (about 29 grams) in your home will still remain legal.

We did formerly have the right to posses a quarter pound of dried cured and smokable Cannabis (about 116 grams) in our homes.

Where we have taken the largest loss under the current new law and new ruling as of right now we no longer have the right to grow our own plants under state law which use to protect and allow a rather very generous number of plants per adult so you could grow and attain that quarter pound.

What all that actually meant in reality was if a person could keep their mouth shut about what they were growing and did not sell any at all and just simply did nothing to draw the attention of the Feds then you had absolutely no worries from State and Local Law Enforcement and could grow your own in peace but as of now there is no provision at all to reinstate this ........ so the right to grow your own in Alaska is gone completely at this time.

This will of course be a big boost for the illegal trade since now the only way to obtain that legally small amount without risking prison and the loss of your home will be to illegally purchase it.

I think we will have a man on Mars before we have intelligent life in politics.

Hang in there Alaskan Biker, maybe the ACLU will keep working on it, and like Mazdog said, find a crack, which hopefully will open the floodgates to some common sense. AzLaker 8)

Yeah guys your right it's definitely better than nothing so I am going to continue to hang in there but I know better than to hold my breath when dealing with these issues so I will save that little exercise for some quality herb before it runs out.
