I leave Czech Republic on a flight to Amsterdam. I got drunk as fuck on the plane there. I mean 8 glass's of red wine (they had beer but I didnt want it).
I land in Amsterdam, couldnt wait to get off the plane and see the airport. I get to my gate and get off the plane.
I then ask where my other plane to Atlanta is connecting out of. A flight attentent shows me the way so I haul ass drunk to my gate. I passed by some bars and one bar I saw some people tokeing what looked like a blunt. It must have been a cigar.
I see why they allow weed there, the extra securate was enough, with metal detectors and x ray machines. They even asked me to open my bags and search before I got on the plane.
Anyways, I make my way through Amsterdam, then on to Georgia where I live. Half way on the flight to GA (us state, duh!) they hand out Custom Personal Clam Forms. I am freaking out on what to write or if I should just make up some shit I didnt get and put in on the form.
I end up doing such.
I wait at the long lines in the Atlanta Customs (Border Crossing). Finally I get to the agent and to get my passport stamped. I am so nervus that when he ask's me if I had any alcohol I slipped up. I confessed to having Absinthe in my bag. He cracked a joke saying,"Ohh trying to be like Eurotrip eh?" which I played off asking him if that was a tv show or movie or something.
I make my way past getting my passport stamped and I have my personal clam form stamped with some sort of letter followed by a circle.
I get to customs next to the Baggage Claim area and they ask to see my bags before I can walk off scott free.
I am freaked at this point. I wait and wait and finally Atlanta P.D. ask's to check my bag.
I came clean, told the lady where the absinthe was and what ever I had. She asked me about my trip and how I got it and such.
She then said that its concidered alcohol, and that I am underage. She check's the rest of my bag's which I am still scared shit less about.
She pull's the Absinthe aside and says shes going to have to take it. She then ask's another officer what she should do with it.
By that time I am watching them so I sort of knew what the two cops where saying more that 10 feet in front of me.
The cop comes back, saying that I can keep the Absinthe as long as I call my parents and they can confirm its for them and not me.
So I give them the contact info, and they contact my parents.
Loan and Behold she hands back the Absinthe and say's that I need to go straight home and drop it off. I walk away scott free from Customs.
Red Red wine, Amsterdam landing, and Customs at home........

I hate being held up at customs. Only ever happened twice and the guys (or girls) really try their best to try and catch you out even though you know that you are carrying absolutely nothing.
Can't believe they actually phoned your parents about the bottle of Absinthe. That's like something that would possibly happen at school, not in an airport.
Still, the main thing is you got it back. I just hope your parents are the understanding types about the under-age thing.

I have only gotten held up at customs once (knock on wood). I was crossing the boarder from canada and had bought several botles of alcohol while there (i was 19 then so i could legally buy alcohol in Canada but not in America). I put them in my suitcase wrapped in shirts and what not and put my bag in my dads car (thinking he would cover for me). Well this was the same day in 2004..June I believe..and usa had just "handed over control of Iraq to the new Iraq government". So the boarder was very heavy in security. They were searching EVERYONE. The found my alcohol and my dad actually said it was mine. They made us all pull over. The customs officer was rude to my mom and I. In the end my mom stuck up for me and said the alcohol was hers(ironic seeing as she doesn't drink or smoke) and we were on our way. I got to keep my alcohol and everything.
