A data base on the computer with patient information? Hmm, me thinks they may have violated PUBLIC LAW 104-191, AUG. 21, 1996, HEALTH INSURANCE PORTABILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY ACT OF 1996 (HIPPA) "WRONGFUL DISCLOSURE OF INDIVIDUALLY IDENTIFIABLE HEALTH INFORMATION", SEC. 1177.

The underlying cause and effect would be the malicious intend, ie... to persecute and prosecute patients listed in the database. By extension, this may also infringe on doctor/patient confidentiality.
This may get real ugly, real quick.
