Probably should not go there. Its very easy to criticize the French, but it often reveals more about those doing the criticizing that anything accurate about Frabce. It sure did when the French did not go along with the invasion of Iraq in 2003, which sent Bush, Cheney and the right-wingers in the US off their medications.

The reason behind going in is as much an eventual enquiry will find the weapons used against the people there and to kill them would almost certainly have been supplied by the US & UK as much as it is about the oil.

And knowing that British and American (and possably other western world weapons) weapons are being used in such a brutal way against innocent people is reason enough as it could be argued they (the weapons) were provided under such licences that they would not be used upon there own people at a point where the leadership was slightly more civilised at the time of any weapons deal than it is now.

Of cause, the oil in the main motivation. But bet you the western world provided weapons will be 1 of the main reasons when it's all done and dusted with an enquiry for them to have gone in there.
