New freeview tv help !! How do you get the signal ?

Post by Cisco »

Ok so I just got a new tv with freeview etc (before now I have been using a split from a cable box) The problem is I just can't get it to work/tune in the instructions have you sticking a co-axial cable fr tv into the household arial, but as this is a tv for the bedroom I don't have a socket in the room !

So what do people do if you buy a second tv ? I could just run a cable to the arial socket in the living room ?

Anyone came upon a similar problem ?

You need an aerial source, the aerial has to be a digital one as well.

You have to have a really strong signal for digital or you wont get any joy, picture breaking up etc.
What a long strange trip it is.

I was thinking of a wee trip to Maplins the instructions suggest using some sort of booster so it will jus be a case of running the cable through ! Another option is to get another cable box I suppose ? I did have a cable running from a box to my room but for some reason it dont work no more !!

Thanks chaps much obliged

Hey man, i had the exact same problem as you, i did indeed get a booster that you spoke of, and it worked a treat. I would spend a liitle more on the booster, as the cheaper ones are not the best. Mine is a OneForAll, and has about for plugs for tvs etc. Around 15-20 quid if my memory is right(dont hold me on that though) :D

If you need a booster why not take advantage of the Argos free loan with a deposit scheme?. If it works and you like it I gather you can keep it just as long as you let Argos keep the deposit. Otherwise you can take it back and get your money back. Dont think other places offer this loan scheme like Argos do :) .

I mean, you'd not want to go to a non deposit scheme company that your then be stuck with an item if it does'nt work properly now would you?.
