Tetanus shots anyone?

I hope people know the canals are the sewer system for houseboats...
Might as well take a dip in a sewage/waste treatment facility.

Nothing happy about falling into an Amsterdam canal...

Hey KD, "tons of cars"? WTF??? I don't think so! Maybe (read definitely) bicycles, not cars.
In addition, on the rare occasion they pull out a body. Statistics show that most were junkies. Sad regardless...

Nothing happy about falling into a canal... simply nasty...

From research, I've only found a few articles mentioning cars being pushed or thrown, mostly about the Smarty craze in 2009. Search Amsterdam, Canals, Smart Car. As for bicycles, do the same. Approximately 36,000 bicycles a year are fished from the canals. Now that's tons... as compared to a handful of cars at best.

http://www.dutchamsterdam.nl/707-amster ... car-canals
http://www.ghumakkar.com/2008/11/27/wal ... amsterdam/ "...around 18000 bikes are retrieved from the canals twice a year."

I'm bumping this specific topic because erroneous information is being stated without fact. Do cars end up in the canals, yes, but not tons, figure of speech for an enormous amount. A few a year does not make tons, unless the weight of the vehicles are what's being considered. Now, 36,000 bicycles in measurement of quantity, that's tons...

Fact checker anyone...?

Nothing happy about falling into a sewer system...
