"Through May 22, the Dutch Resistance Museum in Amsterdam explores the different forms of love to spring from the trenches, shelters and concentration camps of World War II, in the exhibition “Love in Wartime.”

Focusing on the human, not the military, aspect of war, the museum (Plantage Kerklaan 61; 31-20-620-2535; http://www.verzetsmuseum.org ) examines the experiences of those who lived under German occupation in The Netherlands from 1940 to 1945. And though life did go on, it got complicated. During that time an estimated 8,000 Dutch babies were born from affairs with liberators, while as many as 15,000 were born of German servicemen."

Saw this at the museum on my visit in March. Aside from the statistics, as exampled above, the exhibit is somewhat lacking.

The museum however, is not lacking. It's an interesting way to spend some rainy time in Amsterdam.
