Parking in Amsterdam

Post by robyjosh »

Hi everybody :D

I will be in Amsterdam for two months and I will go with my car.
I know that in Amsterdam car parking is very expensive and I don t want to use my car there because I know that there are very good public transport.
I thought to park the car somewhere like behind the train station, over the sea.

Do you know if there are out of Amsterdam any carparking where I can spend not more of 25€ per month.

Josh.

p.s. sorry for my English :(

This is an old topic, but I'll give mu experience. When we drove earlier this summer we could not find ANY parking within walking distance of the city center that wasn't about 50 euros per day, so we ended up just parking in one of the main garages by the train station. Unless someone knows of a better place, I would say either DONT drive, or if you do be prepared to add 50 euro per day to your costs. I'm sure there's some sort of park and ride option though, they do that in most major European cities I've driven through. Amsterdam parking was stupidly expensive though :( No parking on the streets either unless you find and feed metered spots all day.

I've used the Park and Ride scheme several times - €5.50 for 24 hours inc tram ticket to centre and back

I was gonna ask the same, since we want to visit Adam for 1-2 days, but it seems that Park+Ride is the best thing you can do.

Park in the IKEA lot by the Haarlem Spaarnwoulde station. From there you can take the train to Haarlem Central or Amsterdam Centraal. Your car will be safe for a few days there. It's free too.
